Field of ApplicationWhite pigmented priming paint for hiding prime coats, outdoors and indoors, before applying emulsion-silicate paints. Particularly suitable to create grip coats on substrates which cannot ensure a proper silification of subsequently applied silicate/mineral coats. Also to be used for adhesion promoting priming coats on smooth, sound/stable substrates, as e.g. concrete, mineral renders/plasters in mortar groups PIc to PIV, matt (flat) emulsion coatings, sandwich-type plasterboards and gypsum wallboards.
- Diffusion-capable, sd-value: 0.03 m
- Emission-minimised, solvent-free.
- Free from preservatives.
- Water-dilutable, ecologically compatible, low odour.
- High adhesion to the substrate.
- Levels the substrate absorbency.
- Good opacity (hiding/covering power).
Material Base / VehiclePotassium silicate, acrylic resin, mineral pigments and fillers.
- Standard Product: 5 l, 12.5 l. Airfix: 25 l hobbock, 120 l paint barrel

Suitable SubstratesThe substrate must be sound/stable, dry, clean, and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion. In Germany: Follow VOB, part C, DIN 18363, section 3.
Substrate PreparationSee Technical Information No. 650 for suitability of the primer on different substrates and their special treatment.
Surface Coating SystemSylitol® Mineralgrund is usually applied undiluted, but can be adjusted to working consistency to a max. of 5 % with tap (potable) water.
ConsumptionApprox. 150 ml/m² on smooth surfaces. On roughly textured substrates correspondingly more.
Determine the exact amount of material required by coating a test area on site.
Application ConditionsLow Temperature Limit for Application and Drying:
+8 °C for product, substrate and ambient air.
Drying/Drying TimeAt +20 °C and 65 % relative humidity recoatable after approx. 12 hours. Lower temperatures and higher humidity extend the drying time.
