Field of Application
Ready-to-use textured renders with Nano-Quartz Matrix Structure Technology for
- Capatect ETICS✱ System B
- Capatect ETICS System OrCa
- Capatect VHF (Cladding) System
- Uncoated concrete
- Layers of mortar groups PII (lime-cement mortar) + PIII (cement mortar) according to DIN V 18550
- Matt, sound coatings of emulsion paints and silikates
- Not suitable for timber and plastic or substrates with efflorescence
ThermoSan-Fassadenputz SPRINTER formua is designed to create a final coat within the Capatect ETICS Systems during unsuitable weather conditions of the clammy and cold season. Due to a short-term skinning effect the surface may be stressed earlier by drizzle or frost - compared with regular formula of ThermoSan-Fassadenputz. Final hardening and drying depends on weather conditions – as usual for the regular formula.
Do not mix with regular ThermoSan-Fassadenputz .
Note: This SPRINTER formula is not designed to apply at inappropriate temperatures outside the specified values or in the pouring rain.
✱ ETICS = External Thermal Insulation Composite System
Brit. term: EWI = External Wall Insulation
Am. term: EIFS = External Insulation and Finish System

Packaging/Package Size20 kg bucket
Special tints available according to colour guides CaparolColorSystem, Caparol 3D System plus and Caparol A1.
Further shades with luminosity > 20 on request. Shades with luminosity down to 15 by using reinforcing material CarboNit or CarbonSpachtel.
Luminosity < 15 is unsuitable for use within ETICS system B.
Luminosity down to 5 is possible within the "Edition Carbon Dark Side” system, on Mineral wool.
Dark shades within the "DarkSide" system may require an additional equalizing coat of ThermoSan façade paint, due to the contrast ratio between reinforcement layer and finishing render.
Small quantities can be tinted with CaparolColor or Amphibolin colourants (max. 2 % to avoid low viscosity).
StorageCool, dry, frost-free and protected from direct sunlight for max. 8 weeks after stock receipt.

The exact rate of consumption is best established by trials.
✱) without spilling or loss on site; the substrate may affect consumption.
The substrate must be even, clean, dry, solid, sound and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion. Remove unsound coatings of enamels, emulsion paints, synthetic renders/plasters and unsound mineral paint coatings completely. Clean adherent paint coatings dry or wet. In Germany follow VOB, part C, DIN 18 363, paragraph 3.
Clean surfaces infested with organic growth (mould, moss, algae) with a high-pressure water jet in compliance with the regulations. Then treat the surface with Capatox and allow to dry thoroughly. Clean surfaces contaminated with industrial gases or soot by high-pressure cleaner and suitable cleaning agent, in compliance with the regulations.
Method of Application
Apply ThermoSan-Fassadenputz SPRINTER formula with a stainless steel trowel or suitable spraying equipment homogeneously to surface sections. Rub off immediately to the grain size and take off excessive slurry. Treat the render evenly with a plastic trowel, PU- or EPS-board by circularly "ironing".
The surface roughness is influenced by the chosen tool, hence always the same type of texturing tool should be used: Soft trowels produce a coarse, harder a smoother look. Always the same craftsmen should finish one part of the surface to achieve an even texture. To avoid lapping on large area surfaces, take care to have a sufficient number of hands/craftsmen on the job and to apply the material wet-on-wet without interruption.
For spray application: The nozzle size depends on particle sizes. Working pressure: 0.3 to 0.4 MPa (3 to 4 bar). Apply thoroughly an homogenious layer during spray application. Avoid visible overlapping that may be caused by storeys of scaffolding.
Granules and filler are natural products. It may occasionally cause slight colour variation in the finished coating. Use only material with identical batch number or - if using material from different batches - mix the entire quantity in advance.
Surface Coating System
Capatect-ETICS Systems and Capatect-VHF (Cladding) System: Use Putzgrund 610 SPRINTER formula as primer for an colourfull plaster (if requested, see below), tinted in the same colour shade. Allow drying of intermediate coat before further application
- New reinforcement layers based on mineral mortars: Prime with Putzgrund 610 SPRINTER formula.
- New cement-free reinforcement layers in white: No priming required.
- All tinted renders (except ETICS OrCa): Prime reinforcement with tinted Putzgrund 610 SPRINTER formula.
- Weathered reinforcement layers (e.g. after winter break): Prime with Putzgrund 610 SPRINTER formula.
- All other substrates: See Technical Information "Untergründe und deren Vorbehandlung" / "Substrates and their Preparation"
Processing temperature: +1 °C min. to +15 ° C max. (best between +2 °C and +8 °C) with ≤ 95 % RH during the drying phase for at least 8 hours. After that time usually the render is resistant against drizzle or short and small up to medium-sized rain showers as well as insensitive to slight frost down to -5 °C - due to the skin formation.
Do not apply at temperatures above 15 °C (substrate or material) or in direct sunlight to avoid an untimely skin forming - followed by an uncontrolled processing.
Cover the scaffoldings with tarpaulins to protect the surface from intens rain during the drying phase.
ThermoSan-Fassadenputz SPRINTER formula cures physically by film formation of the emulsion based binder and evaporation of moisture. Lower temperature and higher relative humidity extend the drying process. Compared with regular Thermosan-Fassadenputz the SPRINTER formula dries faster due to an early film-forming. Next processing step only after complete curing of the entire render. The curing is weather dependent - no precise estimation of the period is possible. Prior to further processing check the render in the entire thickness for adequate drying and curing.
Tool CleaningImmediately after use with water.
Stir ThermoSan Fassadenputz SPRINTER formula thoroughly with a low-speed stainless steel agitator. If necessary adjust to working consistency with tap water (max. 1 % if manually applied and max. 2 % for spray application).
NoteDo not apply ThermoSan-Fassadenputz SPRINTER formula (façade render) on horizontal surfaces exposed to rain or moisture
Special Risks (Hazard Note) / Safety Advice (Status as at Date of Publication)
Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show the container or label (intestinal bacteria can be affected). Do not empty into drains, water courses or into the ground. Ensure good ventilation during use and drying. Do not eat, drink or smoke while using the product. In case of contact with eyes or skin, immediately and thoroughly rinse with water.
