Suitability according to Technical Information No. 606 Definition of Application Areas

|(–) inapplicable / (○) of limited suitability / (+) suitable|
SubstratesThe substrate must be solid/stable, dry, clean, even and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion. Follow Technical Information No. 650.
In Germany: Follow supplementary information given in VOB, part C, DIN 18363, section 3.
On substrates with contrasting colours: One previously applied priming coat of Capadecor DecoGrund or Caparol Haftgrund.
Method of ApplicationApplicable with paint brush, roller and high-performance airless spray equipment.
Spray angle: 40° - 50°
Nozzle size: 0.017" - 0.019"
Pressure: 180 - 200 bar
Dilute to spray consistency with approx. 10 - 20 % of tap/potable water or use undiluted CapaColl VK.
For bonding AkkordVlies Z130 K or Z150 K the airless applied product should be rolled over with a lambskin roller (12 to 14 mm piles) to obtain an even and proper coat of glue.
Apply CapaColl GK liberally and evenly onto the substrate in the width of approx. 1 to 3 lengths, using lambskin roller or airless equipment. Apply the wall covering material without delay and carefully press on with a wallpaper scraper or roller, avoiding blistering. On slightly absorbent substrates and at low temperature or high relative humidity allow CapaColl GK to flash off sufficiently before applying closely woven and laminated glass fabrics.
Surface Coating SystemApplication:
Always follow the corresponding Technical Information before applying the wall covering.
Finely textured glass fabrics and fleeces: Approx. 150 g/m2
Medium textured: Approx. 150 - 250 g/m2
Roughly textured: Approx. 250 - 300 g/m2
Determine the exact amount of material required by coating a test area on site.
Application ConditionsLower Temperature Limit for Application and Drying:
+ 5 °C for product, substrate and ambient air.
Drying/Drying TimeAt +20 °C and 65 % relative humidity surface-dry and recoatable after approx. 6 - 12 hours. Thoroughly dry after approx. 3 days. Lower temperatures and higher relative humidity extend the drying time.
NoteDilute CapaColl GK with 20 % of tap (potable) water for bonding finely woven glass fabrics like 1100 K and 1100 VB. Therefore dilute CapaColl GK in the standard container and apply with a short pile lambskin roller, then allow to flash off sufficiently. The alternative product CapaColl VK can be used undiluted.
Bonding of FantasticFleece and Capaver AkkordVliese: High material consumption may lead to the opening of edgings and should be avoided. For this purpose the use of CapaColl VK is advisable.
Reworking of gypsum fillers/surfacers: Provide for fast drying by means of sufficient ventilation and temperature to avoid swelling, blistering and spallings caused by long-lasting exposure to moisture.
In Germany: Follow Data Sheet No. 2 "Verspachtelung von Gipsplatten" (Filling gypsum boards), Bundesverband der Gips- und Gipsplattenindustrie (German Association of Gypsum Plasterboard Industry).
Please Note (Status as at Date of Publication)Keep out of the reach of children. Avoid release to the environment. IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.
Further information: See Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
Contains: 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one, 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one. May produce an allergic reaction.

DisposalMaterials and all related packaging must be disposed of in a safe way in accordance with the full requirements of the local authorities. Particular attention should be made to removing wastage from site in compliance with standard construction site procedures.
In Germany: Only completely empty containers should be handed in for recycling. Dispose containers with residues of liquid product via waste collection point accepting old paints and enamels. Dispose dried/hardened product residues as construction site/demolition/municipal or domestic waste.
EU limit value for the VOC content2004/42/EC (2010): < 1 g/l VOC
Substances of Content - DeclarationPolyvinyl acetate resin, water, additives, preservative (methylisothiazolinone, benzisothiazolinone).
