    Substrates

The substrate must be solid, sound/stable, dry, clean, even and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion. Follow Technical Information No. 650.
In Germany: Follow supplementary information given in VOB, part C, DIN 18363, section 3.

On substrates with contrasting colours: One previously applied priming coat of Capadecor DecoGrund or Caparol Haftgrund.

    Method of Application

Applicable with paint brush, lambskin roller, airless spray equipment and using wallpaper pasting machine.

    Airless Application:
    Spray angle: 40° - 50°   Nozzle size: 0.017" - 0.019"   Pressure: 180 - 200 barWall Bonding Technique:
Apply CapaColl VK liberally and evenly onto the substrate in the width of approx. 1 to 3 lengths, using lambskin roller or airless equipment. Apply the fleece/fabric without delay and carefully press on with a wallpaper scraper or roller, avoiding blistering. On slightly absorbent substrates and at low temperature or high relative humidity allow CapaColl VK to flash off sufficiently before fleece/fabric application.

    Wallpaper Pasting Machine:
CapaColl VK can directly be used for bonding the glass fabric Capaver® without dilution. CapaColl VK is not reversible, it would therefore be advisable to clean the wallpaper pasting machine before longer breaks.

    Surface Coating System

    Application:
Always follow the corresponding Technical Information before applying wall coverings.

Airless applied CapaColl VK can be used for all fabrics of the Capaver product range, due to the higher applicable quantity. CapaColl GK can be used instead, when a higher initial adhesion is needed.

    Consumption

    Glass Fabrics:
Finely textured glass fabrics and fleeces: Approx. 150 g/m2
    Medium textured: Approx. 100 - 250 g/m2

Determine the exact amount of material required by coating a test area on site.

    Application Conditions

Lower Temperature Limit for Application and Drying:
+ 5 °C for product, substrate and ambient air.

    Drying/Drying Time

At +20 °C and 65 % relative humidity surface-dry and recoatable after approx. 6 - 12 hours. Thoroughly cured after approx. 3 days. Lower temperatures, higher quantities of applied product or higher relative humidity extend the drying time.

    Note

Bonding of Capaver AkkordVliese: High material consumption (e.g. when airless applied) may lead to the opening of edgings and must be avoided.

Reworking gypsum filling compounds may lead to swelling, blistering and flaking due to long lasting moisture exposure. Provide for quick drying by sufficient ventilation and temperature. In Germany: Follow Data Sheet No. 2 "Verspachtelung von Gipsplatten" (Trowel Application on Plasterboards) issued by the German Association of Gypsum and Plasterboard Industry.
