Substrates
The substrate must always be solid, dry, clean, level and free of separating substances. Observe VOB, Part C, DIN 18366, Para. 3. and our Technical Information No. 650.
Coat high-contrast substrates in advance with Capadecor DecoGrund or Caparol HaftGrund EG.
Substrate Preparation
Note Q2/Q3 filling / thin layers of gypsum < 0.5 mm
When using gypsum-based, hydraulically setting fillers in quality level Q2/Q3, a transparent, water-based primer is recommended. Please refer to the Maler&Lackierer Merkblatt Nr. 2 -9/2020 "Haftfestigkeitsstörungen von Beschichtungen auf verspachtelten Gips(karton)platten" des Bundesverbandes Farbe, Gestaltung, Bautenschutz und des Bundesausschusses Farbe und Sachwertschutz.
As an alternative to gypsum-based Q3 fillers, fillers with pasty fillers have proven their worth.
Method of Application
Can be applied with a brush, roller, airless device and pasting machine.
Airless application:
Dilution | undiluted |
Airless device | |
Spray pressure | 180 - 200 bar |
Spray angle | 40° - 50° |
Nozzle size in Inch | 0.017" - 0.019" |
Plug-in gun filter in MW | ca. 0.31 mm |
Wall bonding technique:
Apply CapaColl VK generously and evenly with a roller (pile height 13-16 mm) or airless device in approx. 1-3 widths, embed the fleece immediately and press on with a wallpapering roller until bubble-free. On slightly absorbent substrates, at low temperatures or high humidity, allow the adhesive to flash off sufficiently before laying.
Glueing device:
CapaColl VK can be used to bond Capaver glass fabrics without further dilution in appropriate gluing equipment. Please note that CapaColl VK is not reversible. The gluing equipment should be cleaned during longer breaks in work.
Clean tools with water after use.
Surface Coating System
Application:Always follow the corresponding Technical Information before applying wall coverings.
Airless applied CapaColl VK can be used for all fabrics of the Capaver product range, due to the higher applicable quantity. CapaColl GK can be used instead, when a higher initial adhesion is needed.
Consumption
Glass Fabrics:
Finely textured glass fabrics and fleeces: Approx. 150 g/m2
Medium textured: Approx. 150 - 200 g/m2
Determine the exact amount of material required by coating a test area on site.
Application Conditions
Lower Temperature Limit for Application and Drying:+ 5 °C for product, substrate and ambient air.
Drying/Drying Time
At +20 °C and 65 % relative humidity surface-dry and recoatable after approx. 6 - 12 hours. Thoroughly cured after approx. 3 days. Lower temperatures, higher quantities of applied product or higher relative humidity extend the drying time.Note
Bonding of Capaver AkkordVliese: High material consumption (e.g. when airless applied) may lead to the opening of edgings and must be avoided.Reworking gypsum filling compounds may lead to swelling, blistering and flaking due to long lasting moisture exposure. Provide for quick drying by sufficient ventilation and temperature. In Germany: Follow Data Sheet No. 2 "Verspachtelung von Gipsplatten" (Trowel Application on Plasterboards) issued by the German Association of Gypsum and Plasterboard Industry.
Special Risks (Hazard Note) / Safety Advice (Status as at Date of Publication)
