Suitable Substrates
The substrates must be solid, sound/stable, dry, clean, and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion. In Germany: Follow VOB, part C, DIN 18363, section 3.Substrate Preparation
Please refer to our Technical Information No. 650 "Substrates and their pre-treatment" regarding suitability for various substrates and their necessary pre-treatment.
Thin layers of gypsum levelling compound should be primed with CapaSol Konzentrat 1:4 with water before coating with Capadecor® DecoGrund.
Thinning
Capadecor® DecoGrund is dilutable to a max. of 10 % with tap (potable) water. Higher dilution is detrimental to hiding power and application properties.Surface Coating System
Apply Capadecor® DecoGrund (diluted as required) by paint roller or brush to the full surface. For following semi-transparent glaze (scumbling paint) coats or filler/surfacer coatings the roller applied priming coat of Capadecor® DecoGrund must be wiped with a brush or filler treated.
Consumption
150 - 200 ml/m2 on smooth surfaces. On roughly textured substrates correspondingly more.Determine the exact amount of material required by coating a test area on site.
Application Conditions
Lower Temperature Limit for Application and Drying:+8 °C for product, ambient air and substrate.
Drying/Drying Time
At +20 °Cand 65 % relative humidity recoatable after approx. 12 hours. Lower temperatures extend the drying time.Tools
