Suitable Substrates

Interior surfaces: Mineral plasters in mortar groups PII (lime-cement mortars), PIII (cement mortars), PIV (gypsum mortar and ready-mixed gypsum plaster), plasterboards, gypsum wallboards and concrete.

The substrate must be dry, clean, sound/stable, planar (trowelled up smoothly), without any colour contrast, and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion.

Substrate Preparation

Coarse (roughly textured) substrates, walls made of plasterboards and all walls and ceilings subjected to adverse lighting conditions (sided/grazing light) should previously be primed with Caparol-Haftgrund.
Use filler Caparol-Akkordspachtel fein (fine) on the full surface (1 or 2 coats) to match the quality of approx. surface level Q4. 
Intermediate sanding after drying of filler coat (up to P200-240 grit).
Then prime with CapaSol in order to equalize the absorption capacity and for embedding dust particles.

Substrates of approximately quality level Q4 can directly be coated with the surface coating system.

Method of Application

Priming Coat: 
Roller-apply one priming coat of Capadecor DecoGrund, tinted to match the finishing coat in shade, diluted 10 % with tap (potable) water, then spread with a scumble brush. For intensive colors Capadecor EffektGrund can be used as a base coat alternatively.

Intermediate Coat:
Apply undiluted ArteDolce (in desired shade) crosswise with a short pile roller (10 - 12 mm piles) and then spread slightly to equalize/level visible roller marks.

Finishing Coat:
Apply undiluted ArteDolce (in desired shade) crosswise with a short pile roller (10 - 12 mm piles) and then spread slightly to equalize/level visible roller marks.

Thinning

Apply ArteDolce in undiluted form.

Consumption

Approx. 100 - 120 ml/m² per coat. Determine the exact amount of material required by coating a test area on site.

Application Conditions

Low Temperature Limit for Application and Drying:
+5 °C for product, ambient air and substrate.

Drying/Drying Time

At + 20 °C and 65 % relative humidity surface-dry after 30 - 60 minutes. Completely cured and ready for stress after 1 - 2 days. Lower temperatures and higher relative humidity extend the drying time.

Tools

Recommendation: Use short pile roller (10 - 12 mm piles) for application and level roller marks with a soft brush.

Tool Cleaning

Immediately after use with soapy water.

Advice for Cleaning and Care/Maintenance:
Always check for cleanability, previously by trials (test area), working with due care. Note: Changes in surface appearance (shiny spots), caused by cleaning, are not removable.

Keep out of reach of children. Ensure good ventilation during use and drying. Do not eat, drink or smoke while using the product. In case of contact with eyes or skin, immediately and thoroughly rinse with water. Do not allow product to enter drains, waterways or soil. Clean utensils immediately after use with soap and water. Do not breathe spray dust. Use A2/P2 combination filter for paint spraying.

Disposal

Materials and all related packaging must be disposed of in a safe way in accordance with the full requirements of the local authorities. Particular attention should be made to removing wastage from site in compliance with standard construction site procedures.
In Germany: Only completely empty buckets/containers should be handed in for recycling. Dispose containers with residues of liquid product via waste collection point accepting old paints and enamels. Dispose dried/hardened product residues as construction site/demolition/municipal or domestic waste.

EU limit value for the VOC content

of this product (category A/l): max. 200 g/l (2010). This product contains max. 50 g/l VOC.
