Field of Application

Highly filling undercoat lacquer, suitable for airless spray application on primed surfaces in interiors before applying waterborne enamels, e.g. Capacryl Spray-TEC Satin and Capacryl PU-Satin/PU-Gloss.

Material Properties

  • High filling capacity.
  • Excellent opacity (hiding/covering power).
  • High stability up to 450 µm wet film thickness.
  • Very easy to sand.
  • Efficient application with airless spray process.
  • High degree of whiteness.
  • High dry film thickness.
  • Lead- and chromate-free.

Suitable Substrates

Primed wood and derived timber products, primed and dimensionally stable metal surfaces, stable existing coatings, primed with Capacryl Haftprimer (wash primer), in interiors.

Substrate Preparation

Sand and clean the primered surfaces.

Preparation of Material

Stir well before use. Spray preferably undiluted or diluted to a max. of 5 % with tap (potable) water, if necessary.

Method of Application

Advice for Spray Application:

Advice: Dilution reduces the stability and filling capacity.

Thinning

Spray preferably undiluted or diluted to a max. of 5 % with tap (potable) water, if necessary.

Note: Adhesion must be tested in advance for powder coatings, coil coatings and other critical substrates by trial coating.

Consumption

Approx. 220 ml/m2 at 200 µm wet film thickness.
Consumption is a reference value and may vary, depending on the nature of substrates and substrate condition.
Determine the exact amount of material required by coating a test area on site.

Application Conditions

Lower Temperature Limit for Application and Drying:
Min. +10 °C for product, substrate and ambient air.
Relative humidity must not exceed 70 %.

Drying/Drying Time

At 20 °C and 65 % relative humiditydust dryrecoatable
Drying times1)approx. 60 minutes at 200 µm wet-film thickness2)6-8 hours

1) Lower temperatures and higher humidity extend the drying time.
2) Higher wet film thickness extend the drying time.

Tool Cleaning

Immediately after use with water.
