Suitable Substrates
Primed or painted hot water radiators and heating pipes. The substrate must be clean, sound/stable, dry, and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion.Substrate Preparation
Uncoated Radiators:Clean metal surfaces thoroughly and derust corroded substrates according to industry standard
SA 2 ½ (blasting) or ST3 (mechanically) according to DIN EN ISO 12 944-4.
Pre-coated radiators (ex factory/works):
Sand and clean the surface.
Radiators with sound existing coats of paint:
Sand the surface and/or treat slightly with alkali. Remove unsound coatings completely.
Method of Application
Guidelines for Spray Application:

1) Use Capacryl PU-Satin/Gloss for coloured paintwork/finishing. |
2) Prepare and prime defective areas according to substrate requirements. |
Application:
Capacryl Heizkörper-Lack can be applied with brush, roller or spraying equipment. Stir well before use and dilute to a max. of 5 % with tap (potable) water, if necessary.
Consumption
Approx. 100–130 ml/m2/coat. Consumption is only a guide value and may vary, depending on substrate requirements. The exact consumption is best established by a trial coating (test area) on site.Application Conditions
■ Material, circulating air and substrate temperature: min. 8 °C (favorable range: 10 to 25 °C).
■ Relative humidity: ≤ 70 %.
Drying/Drying Time
At 20 °C and 65 % relative humidity. | dust dry | recoatable | thoroughly dry |
after hours | 1–2 | 10–12 | 48 |
Lower temperatures and a higher relative humidity extend the drying time.
Tool Cleaning
Clean tool after use with water and wetting agent, e.g. Gescha Multi-Star. It is recommended the wearing of nitrile gloves.
