Field of Application
For colourful designing and protection of limited dimensionally stable wood, e.g. wooden claddings, shutters, gates, framework, etc., and wooden parts of unstable shape, e.g. panelling, fences, shingles, balustrades, pergolas, etc. Also suitable for down pipes and rain pipes made of rigid PVC and galvanised metal sheets. In Germany: Follow BFS Data Sheet No. 18, section 2.2.3 et seq. for coating boards of derived timber products, e.g. boards made of solid wood or veneer plywood. Request for further advice.
Mineralised polymer surface, due to Nano Quartz Matrix Technology, for long-lasting clean surfaces without any loss of coating film elasticity.
This product is provided with a preservative against deterioration in the coating film due to fungal (fungi/mildew/mould) and algal (algae) attack. In most cases such a film preservation ensures an effective protection for years against fungal & algal attack. But the content of film preservation agent is reduced to an ecologically worthwhile/justifiable rate, thus in individual cases a premature attack may occur, highly depending on the biological loads on site. In spite of containing a film preservation, on boards made of derived timber products (e.g. plywood, veneer plywood, laminated veneer lumber et al.) a durable protection against fungal attack cannot be guaranteed. On principle, a premature attack must be taken into consideration (even before lapse of warranty time).
Roof soffits are, depending on construction and finish, also highly prone to fungal attack, thus cannot be warranted. Together with constructional/structural measures the use of preservative agent is the only way to protect the surface film of coatings for a longer period against the risk of fungal and algal (algae) attack.
Material Properties
- High weather resistance
- Reduced soiling tendency
- Very good colour stability
- Elastic
- Easy and smooth application
- Drip-resistant
- Water vapour diffusible
- Surface temporarily protected against fungal and algal attach
Material Base / Vehicle
Nano-Quartz-Matrix modified synthetic resin dispersion/emulsion, particularly for wood construction elements.Packaging/Package Size
- Standard Colours:
- ColorExpress:
Colours
White, Chocolate Brown, Light Grey, Deep Black, Swedish/Oxblood red.Tintable via the ColorExpress stations in many colour shades.
A temporary brightening of shades is possible while the coating is stressed by water. This effect is typical for the special material type and does not affect the functionality of the coating. This information applies also for a wear debris of pigments on the surface of coatings in case of high scouring stress.
When applying colours with lower opacity, such as red, orange or yellow, it is advisable to previously apply one priming coat using the matching colour shade of our Priming System. Priming System colours are available via the ColorExpress tinting technique.
Colour Resistance Classification as per German BFS-Merkblatt (Data Sheet) No. 26:
Binder: Class A
Pigmentation: Group 1 to 3, depending on the colour.
Gloss Level
Silk-matt/semi-gloss (mid sheen; velvet or eggshell-like finish). The gloss level may vary, depending on the wood surface.
Storage
Keep in a cool, but frost-free place.Density

Suitable Substrates
Limited stable and unstable wooden parts.Substrates must be clean, sound/stable, dry and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion. Max. permissible moisture content in limited stable and unstable wood (WMC): 15 %.
The principles of constructional wood preservation are to be observed. They are the basis for a durable wood protection with coating materials. Germany: See BFS Data Sheet No. 18.
Substrate Preparation
New Wooden Parts:Sand/grind the surface of wood in fibre direction, clean thoroughly and remove seeping wood contents, e.g. wood resin/rosin and resin galls, cut sharp edges.
Uncoated Existing Wood:
Sand/grind off weathered (greyish) surfaces to obtain a sound/stable substrate, then clean thoroughly. Cut sharp edges.
Coated Wood:
Carefully remove all unstable existing coatings to the stable wood. Roughen (slightly sand) the surface of stable coatings and clean thoroughly.
Zinc, Unplasticized (Rigid) PVC:
Wash with light ammonia solution using sanding pad according to German BFS Data Sheets No. 5 and No. 22 or clean via sanding pad and Multistar 1 : 5 diluted with tap (potable) water.
Method of Application
Capadur Wetterschutzfarbe NQG is ready-to-use and should normally be applied with enamel brush or roller. Stir thoroughly before use.
Capadur Wetterschutzfarbe NQG is provided with a preservative against deterioration in the coating film due to fungal (fungi/mildew/mould) and algal (algae) attack. Thus, spraying is only permitted in closed facilities under careful attention of local environmental and industrial safety regulations.
Guidelines for Spray Application within Closed Facilities:
