Glass, primed wood and primed steel at window frames.
Maximum permissible wood moisture content: 15 %.
Substrate PreparationRemove all residues of existing sealing material. Clean glass surfaces very thoroughly.
Sand wood surfaces, thoroughly remove all sanding dust to obtain a clean surface, then apply impregnation and priming coats in compliance with the surface coating system.
Derust and clean steel surfaces, then apply two priming coats of Capalac AllGrund.
Method of ApplicationFill the joint with Capadur Repair FK (avoiding blistering) and smoothen with a joint scraper, suitable for sealing glass.
Use suitable adhesive tape in the border area before filling joints to obtain a sharp and linear edge. Remove the tape directly after smoothing. Do not use smoothing agents such as soapy water.
Surface Coating SystemCured Capadur Repair FK can be primed with Capalac Allgrund or Capacryl Haftprimer. The surface can be painted, when the priming coat is thoroughly dry.
Surface coating systems on Capadur Repair FK are e.g.:
Priming coat: Capalac AllGrund.
Finishing coat: Capalac Venti or Capalac BaseTop.
Priming coat: Capacyl Haftprimer.
Finishing coat: Capacryl PU-Satin/Gloss or Capalac Aqua PU-Alkyd Satin/Gloss
Note: Always prime the full casements in order to avoid wetting failures.
Capadur Repair FK is not recoatable with translucent glazes/scumbles! For glazed windows Capadur Repair FK can only be applied when the finishing glaze coat has been allowed to fully dry. Do not coat (colour Nut Brown).
ConsumptionApprox. 50 ml/m for triangel-shaped joints of 10 mm x 10 mm (side width & depth).
Application ConditionsMin. 5 °C to max. 35 °C (temperature of ambient air, product and substrate). Relative humidity (RH) must not exceed 85 %.
Curing: approx. 3 mm/24 hours.
Recoatable: Approx. 24 hours at the earliest, depending on layer thickness.
(Drying time at 20 °C air temperature and 60 % relative humidity)
Tool CleaningUse Disboxid 419 Verdünner (thinner).

DisposalMaterials and all related packaging must be disposed of in a safe way in accordance with the full requirements of the local authorities. Particular attention should be made to removing wastage from site in compliance with standard construction site procedures.
In Germany: Only completely empty cartridges should be handed in for recycling. Dispose cartridges with residues of liquid product via waste collection point accepting old paints and enamels. Dispose dried/hardened product residues as construction site/demolition/municipal or domestic waste.
