Capadur F7-LangzeitLasur

Medium build, highly weatherproof wood stain with UV protection. For exterior and interior use. Free of aromatic hydrocarbons.

    Field of Application

    For colourful designing as well as moisture and UV protection of dimensionally stable wooden parts, such as doors and windows. Also suitable for limited stable wooden parts exteriors and interiors, e.g. panelling with tongue and groove, shutters, gates, etc.
    Germany: Follow BFS Data Sheet No. 18, section 2.2.3 et seq. for coating boards of derived timber products, e.g. solid wood panels/plates or veneered plywood.
    Provide for care or renovation intervals of 2 to 3 years for exterior substrates subjected to weathering, as per current state of the art.

    • Mixable among each other in any ratio.

      Tinting via the ColorExpress stations (Capamix and Capalac mix) in 89 special shades of the Caparol 3D System plus colour card and in many shades of other colour collections.

      Note:
      Some shades are only limited suitable for exterior use. Detailed information available at ColorExpress stations. Apply unpigmented Capadur F7 LangzeitLasur "Transparent" on exterior substrates only as a priming coat before applying pigmented translucent coatings or as top coat on dark pigmented translucent coatings to guarantee sufficient protection against UV rays. Do not use transparent product on exposed exterior surfaces subjected to weathering.

    Gloss Level

    Silk-/satin-gloss (mid sheen). 
    The gloss level may vary depending on the substrate.

    Keep in a cool place, in tightly closed packaging.

    Suitable Substrates

    Dimensionally stable and limited stable wooden component parts. The substrate must be clean, sound/solid/stable, and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion. The moisture content in dimensionally stable wood must not exceed 13 %. Max. moisture content of limited dimensionally stable wood: max. 15 %.
    Basic principles of wood preservation for constructions must be followed. They are a precondition for durable wood preservation with coating materials.

    Substrate Preparation

    New Wooden Parts:
    Sand/grind smooth surfaces in the direction of fibres, clean thoroughly and remove seeping substances of content, e.g. resins and resin galls (pitch pockets). Prime exterior substrates with Capalac Holz-Imprägniergrund.

    Untreated Existing Wood:
    Abrade greyish, weathered surfaces until a stable substrate is achieved and clean thoroughly.
    Prime exterior substrates with Capalac Holz-Imprägniergrund.

    Coated Wood:
    Remove unstable coatings completely. Prime exterior substrates with Capalac Holz-Imprägniergrund. Roughen/sand the surface of stable coatings, clean thoroughly and check for compatibility with Capadur F7-LangzeitLasur.

    Method of Application

    Capadur F7-LangzeitLasur is ready-to-use and may be applied by brush, in delivered viscosity.

    1)For optimized protection against UV rays two intermediate coats are necessary for light colours. For dark pigmented translucent coatings (Nut Tree or darker) one intermediate coat is sufficient.
    The unpigmented product "Transparent" has no protective effect against UV rays and is only suitable as base material for tinting or for interior use.

    Application Conditions

    Lower Temperature Limit for Application and Drying:
    Min. 5 °C for product, ambient air and substrate.

    Drying/Drying Time

    At 20 °C and 65 % relative humidity, dry and recoatable after approx. 10 - 16 hours. Drying time and gloss level are influenced by the substrate's absorbency. On wood with special substances of content (ingredients), e.g. oak, the drying time may be longer.

    Special Risks (Hazard Note) / Safety Advice (Status as at Date of Publication)

    Flammable liquid and vapour. Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking. Keep out of reach of children. Keep away from open flames/hot surfaces. - No smoking. Do not breathe vapours/ spray. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Avoid release to the environment. IF SWALLOWED: Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting.
    Contains: butanone oxime, Bis(1,2,2,6,6-pentamethyl-4-piperidyl)sebacate. Mayproduce an allergic reaction.

    Disposal

    Materials and all related packaging must be disposed of in a safe way in accordance with the full requirements of the local authorities. Particular attention should be made to removing wastage from site in compliance with standard construction site procedures.
    In Germany: Only completely empty containers should be handed in for recycling. Dispose containers with residues of liquid product via waste collection point accepting old paints and enamels. Dispose dried/hardened product residues as construction site/demolition/municipal or domestic waste.

    EU limit value for the VOC content

    of this product (category A/e): max. 400 g/l (2010). This product contains max. 400 g/l VOC.
