Field of Application
Solvent-based thick-film glaze suitable for the coloured design and protection of dimensionally stable wooden components (such as windows and doors) and limited dimensionally stable wooden components (such as tongue-and-groove boards, shutters, gates). Can be used outdoors and on small areas indoors.
Due to the odour typical of alkyd resin glazes, we recommend Capadur DecorLasur KF for large-area coatings indoors.
Before coating panel-shaped wood materials (e.g. solid wood panels), please observe the instructions in BFS-Merkblatt no. 18, section 2.2.3 ff.
Material Properties
- Ideal for renovating windows & doors
- Low maintenance thanks to long maintenance intervals
- High colour stability & UV protection thanks to transparent iron oxide pigments
- Biocide-free
- Drip-inhibited

Note:
Capadur F7-LangzeitLasur ‘colourless’ may only be used outdoors as a primer under a coloured glaze or as a top coat on a dark-coloured glaze, as otherwise sufficient UV protection is not guaranteed. Do not use colourless glaze in outdoor areas exposed to the weather.
Gloss Level
Silk gloss. The gloss level can vary depending on the wood surface.

Suitable Substrates
Dimensionally stable and limited dimensionally stable timber components. The substrate must be clean, stable and free from separating substances. The wood moisture content must not exceed 13 % for dimensionally stable wooden components and 15 % for limited dimensionally stable wooden components. The principles of structural timber protection must be observed. These are a prerequisite for durable wood protection with coating materials.Substrate Preparation
The wooden surfaces must be cleaned of dust, dirt, resin pockets, grease, oil, etc. before coating. Thoroughly brush off any sanding dust or loose residue from old coats. Silicone residues lead to levelling problems.
New Wooden Parts:
Sand smooth wood surfaces in the direction of the fibres, clean thoroughly, remove any escaping wood substances such as resins and resin pockets. Use Capalac Holz-Imprägniergrund beforehand in exterior areas.
Untreated exterior wood should be coated immediately before it is exposed to the weather (UV radiation, precipitation, wind). Otherwise, reduced adhesion of the coating can be expected due to the formation of a separating layer. The degree of problematic nature of this separating layer cannot be determined with standard construction site tests.
Untreated Existing Wood:
Sand greyed, weathered wood surfaces down to the sound, stable wood and clean thoroughly. Use Capalac Holz-Imprägniergrund for exterior areas beforehand.
Coated wood / window & door renovation:
Completely remove old coatings that are not stable except for the wood. In exterior areas, use Capalac Holz-Imprägniergrund beforehand.
Sand and clean stable old coatings and check for compatibility with Capadur F7-LangzeitLasur.
Method of Application
Paint at least twice undiluted. For maintenance coats with F7-LangzeitLasur, paint at least once or twice.
Only spray or spray in closed systems with extraction equipment.
The product is thixotropic. The thixotropic effect is reduced by mechanical stress (stirring). After a few hours at rest, the thixotropy is restored.

Consumption
Brush application on smooth wooden surfaces:
approx. 80 - 100 ml/m2
Brush application on rough sawn wood surfaces:
approx. 100 - 120 ml/m2
The consumption values are approximate values that may vary depending on the substrate and substrate condition. Exact consumption values can only be determined by prior test coatings.
