Suitable Substrates

Fixed substrates - but unsuitable for bonding insulation boards by adhesives - like chalking mineral substrates, existing render/plaster and existing paint or other coatings. On such substrates , the insulation boards can be installed with mounting rails.
Wall material must be of sufficient strength for doweling.
Note: Not suitable for water sucking wet substrates.

Substrate Preparation

Remove projecting mortar burrs. Clean larger cavities and fill flush with the surface. Unevenness up to 3 cm can be compensated with Capatect spacers (Distanzstücke).

Consumption

per m2: 1 m2 plus offcuts

Application Conditions

Processing temperature: 5 °C to 30 °C for material, atmosphere and substrate during application and curing.

Fitting of Insulation Boards

Install "Capatect-Sockelschiene" in the respective height using a water level bubble. Pour one bead of adhesive mortar (20-25 cm= approx. 20% surface ratio) centered on the reverse side of the thermal insulation board.

Note for the first row of insulation boards:
Pour additionally a line of adhesive on the reverse side along the bottom boarder for good filling of the gap between uneven wall, the starting rail and insulation board.

Place  "Capatect-Verbindungsstücke 633/00" into each vertical joints between adjacent thermal insulation boards - transom towards the applicator and flaps towards the wall.

After completing the row, insert the "Capatect-Halteleisten 632/00" into the horizontal joints and fasten with approved "Capatect-Universal-Montage-Schraubdübeln" (screw dowels) or "Capatect-Universal-Montage-Schlagdübeln" (knock-in dowels). Maximum distance between adjacent dowels: 30 cm. Choose dowel type for the fixing the mounting rails depending on wall material and required anchoring depth

Continue with next row of insulation boards with staggered joints.

Pay special attention to exact alignment and perpendicular orientation. Substrate uneveness can be compensated with "Capatect-Distanzstücken" (spacers).  Mounting rails must not be distorted. Leave a gap of 2-3 mm between adjacent rails to allow expansion while insulation boards must be installed tightly edge-to-edge.

Refill any potential gaps (e.g. not completly closed butt joints or bed joints)  with conic cut strips of insulation material, if necessary with "Capatect-Füllschaum B1" (up to a max. width of 5 mm).
On blank cuts (fitting pieces, e.g. below window sills or roof projections) the required groove has to be carved in using the tool "Capatect-Nutenhobel". Where necessary to get stability, use  mounting rail as vertical fixing unit. For adjustments (e.g. around window or door edges) the insulation boards may have to be attached in the conventional way, by bonding with adhesive mortarl and with anchors.

For further information on doweling, please refer to the ETICS manual.

No contact with aromatic solvents!

Disposal

Materials and all related packaging must be disposed of in a safe way in accordance with the full requirements of the local authorities. Particular attention should be made to removing wastage from site in compliance with standard construction site procedures.

European Waste Code: Careful cutting and reuse can prevent wastage. In any case, waste or material residue must be disposed of as per EWC 17 02 03 (synthetic material) or as per EWC 17 06 04 (material for thermal insulation).
Germany: Guidelines for recycling of material-cuttings (without any adhesive or surfacer on it) are available via the Industrial Chambers of Commerce
(German Abbr.: IHK).
