Suitable Substrates

see above "Field of Application"

Substrate Preparation

The surface must be even, clean, dry, solid, sound and free from all substances that might prevent good adhesion.
An absolute flatness is postulate. The fine-grained Accento cannot balance out substrate tolerances.
Remove unsound coatings, emulsion paints, or synthetic resin coatings as well as unsound mineral coatings.
Clean firmly adhering coatings dry or wet.

Clean  infested surfaces (mold, moss or algae) with pressurized water jet in compliance with local regulations. Prime with Capatox and allow to dry the area thoroughly.
Clean contaminated surfaces containing industrial fumes residues or soot with pressurized water jets, adding a suitable cleaning agent in compliance with local regulations.
Protect surrounding areas with tarpaulins.

Creating a Capatect ETICS CARBON in approx. 3 mm layer thickness.  The requirements for "increased surface flatness" must be taken into account for the reinforcing layer. If necessary, suitable measures, such as a second reinforcement layer or leveling compound to schedule. The position of the reinforcement fabric (Capatect Gewebe 650/110) is to be arranged in the top third. If a bonded and dowelled Capatect system is used, we recommend the use of the Capatect Universaldübel 053 in "recessed" mounting.
Apply Capatect AmphiSilan Fassadenputz NQG K15 and structure. After drying, rinse the surface with a grid-Rabot. When structuring with a stainless steel trowel this operation may be omitted under circumstances.

  • New reinforcement layers based on mineral mortars: Prime with Putzgrund 610.
  • New cement-free reinforcement layers in white: No priming required.
  • All tinted renders: Prime reinforcement with tinted Putzgrund 610
  • Weathered reinforcement layers (e.g. after winter break): Prime with Putzgrund 610.
  • All other substrates: See Technical Information "Untergründe und deren Vorbehandlung" / "Substrates and their Pretreatment"
Putzgrund 610 has to be tinted in the same shade as primer for a colourfull plaster.

Preparation of Material

Stir Capatect Accento-Spachtel thoroughly with a low-speed stainless steel agitator. If necessary adjust to working consistency with tap water (max. 1 % ).

Method of Application

Base grout layer:
Apply Capatect AmphiSilan-Fassadenputz NQG K15 as base coat and smooth it. After curing sand the surface with a grid and remove dust. Place a pore filling scratched grout coat of Accento-Spachtel in the desired colour shade. Sand it properly and remove dust. Allow drying of intermediate coats before further processing.

Base coat:
After the curing of the base grout layer (about 2 days; weather permitting) apply Capatect Accento-Spachtel with a flexible stainless steel trowel or a so called Venetian trowel as homogenious layer of max. 1 mm thickness. After curing remove burrs by sanding. A very smooth surface can be achieved using sandpaper (grain 120)  for smoothing. Accento-Spachtel is ready for sanding after 6 h. Sanding is exhausting after several days of drying.

Intermediate coat:
Apply the second coat with Capatect Accento-Spachtel with an Accento special trowel (plastic trowel with rounded edges). The Capatect Accento-Spachtel is applied to the entire area and then smoothed out to the minimum level (avoiding sticks), thus ensuring a surface without metal abrasion.
Important: Ground surfaces must always be covered over the entire area with Capatect Accento-Spachtel.

Final coat:
Use Accento-Finish - transparent or tinted gold, silver or copper shade - to achieve a fine smoothed surface. The Capatect Accento-Finish is applied to the entire area and then smoothed out to the minimum level, using the Accento special trowel.
The look of the finished surface depends on size and number of spots as well as the "signature" of the craftsman. In order to avoid offsets, a sufficient number of craftsmen must be on site in order to work without interruption.

Total thickness of all layers ≤ 1mm.

Due to the versatile design possibilities with Capatect-Accento, we generally recommend the creation of a sample area on the construction site.

By using natural aggregates, slight color variations are possible.
Therefore, only process material of the same production batch on contiguous surfaces or mix material of different production batches together beforehand.

  • Scratched pore filling: approx 0.7 to 1.0 kg/m2
  • Base coat: approx. 1.2 to 1.5 kg/m2 (max. thickness 1mm)
  • Intermediate coat: approx. 0.2 to 0.3 kg/m2
  • Final coat: approx. 0.1 kg / m2

The exact rate of consumption is best established by trials.

Application Conditions

Processing temperature: + 5 °C to approx. 30 °C for material, substrate, water and ambient air during application and curing.
Do not apply in direct sunlight, during strong wind, fog, high relative humidity, and imminent rain or frost.

Drying/Drying Time

At 20 °C and 65% RH: Base coat can be sanded at the earliest after approx. 6 hours, surface dry and reworkable after approx. 24 hours. Cured, recoatable and ready for stress after 2 to 3 days.

The render cures physically by evaporation of water. Drying time is extended by low temperature and high RH. Cover the scaffoldings with tarpaulins to protect the surface from rain during the drying phase.

Tool Cleaning

Immediately after use with water.

Capatect Accento-Spachtel is not suitable for use on horizontal surfaces with water pollution.

Protect the scaffolding with tarpaulins against exposure to rain during the drying phase.

Please Note (Status as at Date of Publication)
