For the renovation of fissured, mineral and load-bearing substrates in the plinth area.

Material Properties

  • Tested de-icing salt compatibility according to "IBF-Richtlinie durch OFI"1)
  • Integrated moisture protection as of a total layer thickness of ≥ 7 mm
  • Can be used as felted or textured finishing coat
  • Suitable as an adhesive on bituminous substrates and ideal for medium-layer base coat for facades, which are flush with the plinth area
  • Fiber reinforced against mechanical impact
  • Tested ball impact resistance according to DIN 18032-3
  • Higher flexibility in application, as exact marking of the top edge of the ground on facades is unnecessary

Note

Specified fixed values represent average values that may vary slightly from delivery to delivery due to the use of natural raw materials.
The "allgemeine bauaufsichtliche Zulassung" (general building authority approval) / "allgemeine Bauartengenehmigung" (general type approval) of the ETICS, VHF or the products and the Technical Informations of the products must be observed.

Substrate Preparation

Mask window sills and add-on parts. Carefully cover glass, ceramics, clinker, natural stone, painted, glazed and anodised surfaces as well as surfaces to be protected.

The substrate must be solid, dry, free of grease and dust and, if necessary, have sufficient load-bearing capacity for the use of anchors. Contamination and substances with a separating effect (e.g. formwork oil) as well as protruding mortar ridges must be removed. Damaged, flaking paintwork and decorative render must be removed as far as possible. Hollow areas of rendering must be knocked off and rendered flush with the surface.
Highly absorbent, sanding or flouring surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned down to the solid substance and primed.
The compatibility of any existing coatings with the material must be expertly checked.
Bituminous substrates must be sufficiently ventilated.

Preparation of Material

  • 25 kg of material (one bag) in approx. 5.8 litres of water.

The material can be mixed to a lump-free mass using a powerful, slow-running agitator or compulsory mixer and clean, cold water.
Work through again after approx. 5 minutes. If necessary, adjust the consistency with a little water after this maturing time.
Depending on the weather, the working time is approx. 2 hours (pot life).
Do not use water to make material that has already hardened workable again.

Consumption

  • Adhesive: approx. 4.5-6.0 kg/m2
  • Base coat: approx. 1.5 kg/m2 per mm layer thickness
  • Finishing coat: approx. 1.5 kg/m2 per mm layer thickness

Determine exact material requirements by trial coating on the object.

Layer thickness
Reinforcement: 5 - 7 mm
Reinforcement with integrated moisture protection: 7-10 mm
Finishing render: 1-2 mm

Application Conditions

During The application and in the drying phase, the ambient and substrate temperatures must not be below +5 °C and above +30 °C.
Do not apply in direct sunlight, strong wind, fog or high humidity. In this context, we refer to the leaflet "Verputzen, Wärmedämmen, Spachteln, Beschichten bei hohen und tiefen Temperaturen" (Rendering, Thermal Insulation, Filling, Coating at High and Low Temperatures) from the Bundesverband Ausbau und Fassade (Federal Association for Finishing and Facades).

In unfavourable weather conditions, suitable measures must be taken to protect the treated façade surfaces.

Drying/Drying Time

Primer and intermediate coats must be dry before further application.

The waiting time for recoating depends on temperature, air humidity, air movement, solar radiation and application thickness. The specifications refer to ambient temperatures of 20 °C and 65 % relative humidity and serve as a guide.

If necessary, the anchoring should only be done after the adhesive bed has solidified sufficiently.
The base coat must have dried sufficiently evenly. Dark colours may require special measures.

Additional moisture protection is necessary if the total plaster thickness of Capatect Sockelmulti 777 is < 7 mm or if the reinforcement is reworked with plaster suitable for plinths.

Tool Cleaning

Rinse with water immediately after use in accordance with legal regulations.

Bonding of Insulation Boards

  • Manual processing possible
  • Install insulation boards in a staggered pattern, offset by at least 10 cm, with tight butt joints
  • Butt and horizontal joints must remain free of adhesive
  • Never seal joints between insulation boards with adhesive
  • Fill joints ≤ 5 mm with a suitable, flame-retardant joint foam
  • Close joints and gaps > 5 mm with equivalent strips of insulation material
  • Interlock the insulation materials at the corners of the building
  • Ensure flush and vertical application
  • Damaged insulation boards must not be installed

Bead-dot method
Apply a circumferential bead to the edge of the board and adhesive dots in the centre.

  • Render systems - adhesive contact area ≥ 40 %

Full-surface bonding
On even substrates, the adhesive can be applied over the entire surface using a notched trowel/notched trowel. The insulation boards must be pressed, floated and pressed onto the substrate immediately, after 10 minutes at the latest, with the side to which the adhesive was applied.

Note
Additional anchoring of the insulation boards ≥ 150 mm above ground level is recommended.
The data sheets for the respective insulation material and the prevailing
groundwater conditions must be observed.
Before filling the site and, if necessary, vibrating, the material must be thoroughly dry.
At the transition to an existing (on-site) perimeter insulation board, the material must be applied as a moisture-resistant adhesive to the cut edge of the existing perimeter insulation and the base insulation board that is being integrated must be soaked into it during the bonding process.

Reinforcement Layer

Before reinforcing, insert the corner rails into the mortar over the entire surface and align.
When using the Eckwinkel-Kunststoffecke, only guide the fabric strips up to the edge.

Apply material with stainless steel trowel, comb through with notched trowel R or notched trowel 15 x 15 and level with a trowel.
Lay Capatect Gewebe 650 in an open mortar bed with an overlap of approx. 10 cm and level. The reinforcing mesh must be completely embedded in the reinforcing mortar. Embed the reinforcement mesh so that it is in the upper third of the reinforcement layer thickness.
In the corner area of building openings, additionally embed Capatect Diagonalarmierung or mesh-strips (25 x 25 cm) diagonally in the base coat.

To utilise the integrated moisture protection of Capatect Sockelmulti 777, we recommend partially checking the layer thicknesses to ensure a total render thickness (reinforcement or reinforcement and finishing render) of at least 7 mm.

Finishing Render/Plaster

When applying the product as a finishing render, apply a further coat of the fully dried base coat to a thickness of approx. 1–2 mm. Use a fine sponge float to apply the material while it is setting.
To avoid lapping, finish contiguous surfaces without interruption in the textured layer.

When felting with a sponge float, binder and/or fine particles from the plaster matrix can accumulate irregularly on the plaster surface, which can have an adverse effect on the adhesion of subsequent coatings.

Application

Coating

If the material is used as a reinforcing mortar, it can be reworked with all Caparol textured renders suitable for plinths. Moisture protection, e.g. Capatect Sockelflex Carbon, must be applied to the entire surface of the reinforcement or the render system applied to it after a sufficient standing time up to at least 5 cm above ground level. The moisture protection should be connected to the building waterproofing below the ground level.
If the total layer thickness of base coat and finishing render is at least 7 mm of Capatect Sockelmulti 777, additional moisture protection is not required.
After sufficient service life of the structure, a paint system (at least 2 coats) with a façade paint suitable for the plinth area is recommended. The risk of infestation by microorganisms can be significantly reduced by applying a facade paint with film protection.

In the perimeter area, a protective layer (e.g. dimpled membrane with sliding layer) must be provided on site to protect against damage.
