Ready-to-use mortar for the embedding of reinforcing fabric to create the reinforcement layer on thermal insulating boards made of mineral wool like

Not suitable with mineral top coatings (e.g. finishing render or reinforcement mortar).

Suitable Substrates

All substrates must be load-bearing, dry, flat (DIN 18202 or 18203), clean and free of adhesion-reducing residues.

Preparation of Material

Capatect OrCa-Spachtel is ready to use and should only be stirred up shortly before use. The consistency may be adjusted by adding a small quantity of tap water.

Method of Application

Diagonal reinforcement: Before the application of the reinforcement over the entire area, diagonal reinforcement elements or fabric strips must be embedded diagonally in the corner area of building openings.
Reinforcement layer: To ensure an uniform, even surface, double-layer processing is recommended: Apply the first layer of Capatect OrCa-Spachtel (approx. 1 - 2 mm layer thickness) to stabilize the insulation board surface.
After curing of this layer apply the same reinforcement mortar onto the thermal insulating boards in the width of a reinforcing fabric sheet. Press reinforcing fabric Capatect OrCa-Gewebe 653 very thoroughly into the freshly applied, still wet reinforcement layer with an overlap of approx. 10 cm. Than apply a subsequent layer of reinforcement mortar (wet-on-wet), to guarantee the complete embedding of fabrics. The fabric should be embedded in the upper third of the reinforcement layer. Provide for a total reinforcement layer thickness of approx. 4-5 mm.

Consumption

Approx. 1.3 kg/m2 per mm of layer thickness. Discrepancies should be considered due to site and application conditions.

Application Conditions

Processing temperature: + 8 °C to approx. + 30 °C for material, substrate, water and ambient air during application and curing. Do not apply in direct sunlight, during strong wind, fog, high relative humidity, and imminent rain or frost.

Drying/Drying Time

At 20 °C and 65% RH the reinforcement layer is surface-dry after 24 hours and thoroughly dry and ready for stress after 2 to 3 days. Depending on atmospheric conditions (at the earliest after 2 to 3 days) the reinforcement layer can be coated with Capatect ThermoSan-Fassadenputz NQG.

Keep out of reach of children. Ensure good ventilation during use and drying. Do not eat, drink or smoke while using the product. In case of contact with eyes or skin, immediately and thoroughly rinse with water. Do not allow product to enter drains, waterways or soil. Contains a mixture of 5-chloro-2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one and 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one (3:1), 2-hydroxypropylneododecanoate, 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one. Can cause allergic reactions.

Disposal

Materials and all related packaging must be disposed of in a safe way in accordance with the full requirements of the local authorities. Particular attention should be made to removing wastage from site in compliance with standard construction site procedures. Only completely emptied containers should be given for recycling. In Germany:  Dispose containers with residues of liquid material as remnants of water-based paints and dried material as hardened paints waste or via domestic waste.
