Note

The "allgemeine bauaufsichtliche Zulassung" (general building authority approval) / "allgemeine Bauartengenehmigung" (general type approval) of the ETICS and the Technical Data Sheets of the products must be observed.

Substrate Preparation

The substrate must be flat and free of misalignment, as leveling with the adhesive is only possible to a very limited extent.
The substrate must be free of dust and release agents, dry and have a proven load-bearing capacity. The suitability of some substrates must be checked before application. For this purpose, tear-off tests must be carried out on the panel material.

Preparation of Material

"Capatect Rollkleber 615" is ready to use for trowel application without further additives. It only needs to be stirred briefly with a slow-running agitator. If necessary, adjust the consistency with a little water.
When applying with a lambskin roller (preferably long-pile), adjust the consistency if necessary by adding 3.5 - 4 % water.

Consumption

Depending on the application method (depending on the application thickness and the evenness of the substrate).
Toothed trowel application: approx. 2.0 - 2.5 kg/m2
Roller application: approx. 2.0 kg/m2
Determine exact material requirements by trial coating on the object.

Application Conditions

During The application and in the drying phase, the ambient and substrate temperatures must not be below +5 °C and above +30 °C.
Do not apply in direct sunlight, strong wind, fog or high humidity. In this context, we refer to the leaflet "Verputzen, Wärmedämmen, Spachteln, Beschichten bei hohen und tiefen Temperaturen" (Plastering, Thermal Insulation, Filling, Coating at High and Low Temperatures) from the Bundesverband Ausbau und Fassade (Federal Association for Finishing and Facades).

Drying/Drying Time

Depending on the absorbency of the board materials, the application quantity of the adhesive and the ambient conditions.
At 20 °C and 65 % relative humidity, approx. 72 hours depending on the application thickness.
At lower temperatures and higher humidity, these times are extended accordingly.
With additional mechanical fastening, further processing is also possible earlier.

Tool Cleaning

Immediately after use with water

Bonding of Insulation Boards

Capatect EPS insulation boards and pre-coated MW insulation boards.

Toothed trowel application:
The Capatect EPS insulation boards and pre-coated MW insulation boards are to be coated over the entire surface with a notched trowel. Alternatively, the adhesive can also be applied to the substrate. When applying toothed trowel to vertical wall surfaces, first apply the adhesive compound evenly and then comb through with a 6 x 4 mm toothed trowel.

Roller application:
The adhesive mass is applied by spreading it evenly with a lambskin roller so that the substrate is well wetted. This application method is preferably used for horizontal wall surfaces (e.g. factory coating of prefabricated house elements).

For both application methods, apply only as much Capatect insulation boards with adhesive as can be applied immediately. The open time at 20°C is approx. 15 minutes. With increased substrate absorbency, temperature, air movement and sunlight, the adhesive dries relatively quickly. This can lead to adhesion problems.

The insulation boards must be pressed firmly against the substrate with a slight pushing movement so that a firm adhesive bond is achieved. The adhesive that escapes from the sides must be removed with a spatula. When installing the first row of insulation boards in the plinth profile, make sure that the insulation boards lie firmly against the front upstand of the rail. Under no circumstances should the rail protrude due to insufficient adhesive application. The insulation boards must always be bonded in a staggered formation.

Bonding uncoated MW insulation boards
The adhesive must be applied to the full surface of the MW insulation board in two working steps, by first working it into the surface of the insulation board (press-filling) and then applying it "fresh in fresh" with a notched trowel in a second working step. The MW insulation boards must be bonded to the substrate with pressure immediately, after 10 minutes at the latest.
