These parameters represent average values, which may differ slightly from batch to batch caused by natural fillers and components.

May not be coated by mineral based reinforcements and renders.

Note: Apply material wet-on-wet without interruption to avoid visible lappings. Do not mix Carbon products with other materials to preserve the special product features.
No application on horizontal surfaces exposed to rain or moisture.

Suitable Substrates

All substrates must be load-bearing, dry, even (as per DIN 18202 or 18203), clean and free of residues of all materials, that might prevent good adhesion.

Substrate Preparation

ETICS reinforcement: Smooth all offsets at the joints of Capatect thermal insulating boards by sanding. Remove all adherent sanding dust.

Plaster reinforcement: Remove all unsound or unsolid plaster parts and substances that may prevent good adhesion. Repair damaged areas with adequate mineral based mortars and allow mortar to harden. Smooth the surface to get an even substrate for the following reinforcement.

Mask window sills and other attaching parts.

Preparation of Material

CarbonSpachtel is ready to use. Stir up before use. Working consistency may be adjusted by adding a very small amount of tap water depending on temperatur or working conditions. CarbonSpachtel can be pumped with all current screw pumps, e.g. "Berö Speedy 15" or "Wagner PC 1".

Method of Application

Application of reinforcing layer:
Protect edges and corners with edge guard profiles and all opening angles and corners with diagonal reinforcement fabric.
Apply CarbonSpachtel with a square notched trowel (8 x 8 mm) onto thermal insulating boards in the width of the reinforcement mesh. Press Capatect Gewebe 650/110 (reinforcement mesh) thoroughly into the freshly applied layer with a fabric-overlap of min. 10 cm.
Another layer of CarbonSpachtel has to be applied wet-on-wet to guarantee complete embedding of the mesh. Total layer thickness: 3 to 4 mm. Reinforcement mesh must be embedded in the upper third.


Approx. 1.3 kg/m2 for 1mm layer thickness. This is a numeric standard value without spill and loss. Individual consumption to get the indicated thickness of 3mm has to be taken into account .

Application Conditions

Processing temperature: + 5° C to approx. + 30° C for material, substrate, water and ambient air during application and curing. Do not apply in direct sunlight, during strong wind, fog, high relative humidity.

Drying/Drying Time

At 20° C and 65 % RH: surface-dry after 24 hours; cured and ready for stress after approx 3 days.
The material cures physically by evaporation of water. Drying time is extended by low temperature and high RH.

Tool Cleaning

Immediately after use with water.

Keep out of reach of children. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Contains mixture of: 5-chloro-2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one [EC no. 247-500-7] and 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one [EC no. 220-239-6] (3:1), 2-Hydroxypropylneodecanoat.  

May cause an allergic reaction.

Ensure good ventilation during use and drying. Do not eat, drink or smoke while using the product. In case of contact with eyes or skin, immediately and thoroughly rinse with water. Do not allow product to enter drains, waterways or soil. Clean utensils immediately after use with soap and water. Use P2 dust filter for grinding. Do not breathe spray dust. Use A2/P2 combination filter for paint spraying.

According to European Regulation 528/2012 this product is defined as a "treated article” (not a biocidal product) and contains the following biocidal substances:

pyrithione zinc  (CAS-No. 13463-41-7)

Terbutryn  (CAS-No. 886-50-0)

Octylisothiazolinon  (CAS-No. 26530-20-1


Materials and all related packaging must be disposed of in a safe way in accordance with the full requirements of the local authorities. Particular attention should be made to removing wastage from site in compliance with standard construction site procedures.
Product: Can be landfilled after concentration, when in compliance with local regulations.
Contaminated packaging: Only completely emptied containers should be given for recycling. European waste code EWC 080112
