Substrate Preparation
All surfaces (joint flanks) must be load bearing, flat, dry and free of all residues that could prevent a good adhesion (such as oils, greases, loose parts). In wide façade joints with strong absorbent substrates, prime the joint edges for hydrophobation before installation.
Consumption
1.02 m per m joint plus offcutsDepending on conditions at site. The exact consumption is best established by trials at site.
Application Conditions
Optimum processing temperatures: +8 ° C to +20 ° C. The expansion of the compressed foam is faster at higher temperatures and slower at lower temperatures.
Installation
The fixing of the sealing tape is possible during and after the bonding of the insulation boards.
Adjust the type of sealing tape in the dimensioning of the joint width and the expected joint movement.
When cutting the tape, add at least 2 cm per meter of measured length. For vertical joints, start the laying at the bottom of the joint. In horizontal joints the self-adhesive side is placed downwards.
The joint filling tape should preferably be installed slightly set back into the joint in order to avoid swelling of the joint sealing foam beyond the front edge of the joint flank.
Tapes start and end always as blunt cut. Stick the sealing tape in the appropriate length on the clean surface and push insulation boards tightly towards it.
Expansion times do not have to be considered.
Reinforcement layers and renders must be completely separated from the adjacent elements with a separating cut to allow undisturbed movement of the joint sealing tape. The tape can be painted. Compatibility must be tested in advance when coating with paints is expected.
Note: Put a weight on remaining rolls in open boxes to prevent the rolls from expanding sidewards (telescoping). If necessary, joint sealing tape clips can help.
Disposal
Disposal according to official national and regional regulations.
