Walkable insulation composite element for garrets, made of 8mm thick wooden board type HDF (E1), sticked on a "Dalmatiner" thermal insulation board (type EPS 035).

For the insulation of attics (top floor ceilings), to improve the thermal insulation of upper ceilings towards unheated attics. To create simple and walkable surfaces.
Capatect-Speicherdämmplatten-Dalmatiner sustainably reduce heat loss in top floors.
Do not use below screed - limited moisture-resistant adhesive.

Check the ceiling for load capacity, position stability and irregularities. Check all dimensions. If necessary planish with dry fill material. To avoid acoustic bridges the elements should be installed with adequate space to walls and other installed equipment using elastic trimmings

Fitting of Insulation Boards
For acclimatization store the insulation boards in the area to be covered for at least 24 hours. Existing expansion joints should not be bridged. For large areas (>10 m) an expansion joint has to be installed.
Note: Hygrothermic influences can alter dimensions of wooden materials.
Install the CapaClick®-Speicherdämmelemente with the assymetric groove of the HDF board pointing to the room. The hollow space between the shiplap of the Dalmatiner board and the wall should be filled with suitable insulation material (e.g. mineral wool). Another option is to cut off the shiplap.
Apply waterproof wood glue (PVA glue; as per DIN 204/D3) into the narrow side groove. Close the gap between the elements immediately after application of the glue using a pull bar or by carefully hammering to the opposite side.
Note: Use a wooden block or similar to avoid damage to the insulation boards.
Connect the long sides via plug-in connection. Pour some wood glue into the tongue and groove connection of the narrow sides as done for the first raw. Avoid cross joints. Offset should be approx. 20 cm. If necessary the insulation boards can be cut using a jig saw, a bench saw or a circular hand saw.
To improve moisture resistance the surface can also be coated. Depending on surface requirements, double or triple coating is possible. The substrate must be clean, dry, solid, stable and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion. Grinding might be necessary.

This product contains HBCD (hexabromocyclododecane -. CAS No. 25637-99-4) at a concentration > 0.1% (w / w). Avoid contact of polystyrene with aromatic solvents!
