Suitable Substrates
The substrate must be sound/stable, dry, clean, and free from all materials that may prevent good adhesion. In Germany: Follow VOB, Part C, DIN 18363, section 3.Substrate Preparation
Renders/Plasters in Mortar Groups/Classes PII (Lime-Cement Mortars) and PIII (Cement Mortars) / Minimum Compressive Strength according to DIN EN 998-1: 1.5 N/mm2:
New renders/plasters must be left untreated for a sufficiently long time, normally for 2 weeks at 20 °C and 65 % relative humidity. Adverse weather conditions, influenced e.g. by wind or rain, extend the curing process and correspondingly longer holding times must be respected.
Existing renders/plasters: Repairs must have adequate time to cure and dry. Apply FibroSil, diluted max. 5 %, on firm render/plaster with normal absorbency. Prime strongly absorbent render/plaster with OptiGrund E.L.F. or CapaSol LF. Prime highly sanding or chalking surfaces with Dupa-grund.
Concrete:
Remove soiling or fines layer mechanically or by high-pressure water jet, in compliance with the regulations. On slightly absorbent or even/smooth surfaces, apply FibroSil diluted max. 5 % with tap (potable) water. Prime highly absorbent surfaces with OptiGrund E.L.F. or CapaSol LF.
Prime chalking surfaces with Dupa-grund.
Sound/Stable Emulsion Paint Coatings:
Clean soiled, chalking existing coats by high-pressure water jet, manual washing or other suitable means, in compliance with the regulations. Apply FibroSil thinned max. 5 % with CapaSol LF.
Stable, Solid Synthetic Resin-Bound (Organic) Renders/Plasters:
Clean existing renders/plasters by suitable means. Allow wet cleaned surfaces to dry thoroughly before any further treatment. Apply FibroSil diluted max. 5 % with tap (potable) water.
Surfaces Infested with Organic Growth (Fungi/Mildew/Mould, Algae):
Remove fungal or algal attack by wet blasting, in compliance with the regulations. Then use Capatox or FungiGrund and allow to dry thoroughly.
Surfaces with Salty Efflorescence:
Remove salty efflorescence thoroughly by dry wire brushing and prime with Dupagrund. Coating of such surfaces must be considered a risk for which we cannot accept responsibility, since even after the most thorough treatment the efflorescence may recur.
Defects:
Repair damages up to 20 mm deep with Histolith Renovierspachtel and prime the repaired areas.
Interior surfaces: Pre-treat or prime the substrate in accordance with our Technical Information No. 650 "Substrates and their Pre-treatments", depending on substrate requirements.
Method of Application
The product can be applied by paint brush or roller. Spray application is also possible with suitable spray equipment. On smooth surfaces brush application in cross coat technique (crosswise) is recommended, to obtain an even surface texture. Paint rollers should preferably be used on textured substrates, e.g. corrugated renders/plasters (R type). Stir up well before use. Clean tools immediately after use with water.
Surface Coating System
Priming or Intermediate Coat:
Apply FibroSil diluted to a max. of 5 % with tap (potable) water. An additional intermediate coat of FibroSil can be applied, if necessary.
Finishing Coat:
Apply either AmphiSilan, Muresko SilaCryl, Amphisil, PermaSilan or ThermoSan.
Consumption
Approx. 600 – 800 g/m2 per coat on an even substrate. On rough-textured surfaces correspondingly more. The exact consumption is best established by a trial coating (test area) on site.Application Conditions
Lower Temperature Limit for Application and Drying:+5 °C for product, substrate and ambient air.
Drying/Drying Time
At +20 °C and 65 % relative humidity: surface-dry and recoatable after 12 hours. Completely cured and ready for stress after approx. 3 days. Lower temperatures and higher humidity extend the drying time.Note
Do not apply on sun heated substrates, during strong wind, fog or rain, high relative humidity or imminent rain and frost.Do not apply on horizontal surfaces exposed to rain/water/permanent moisture. Facades in special climatic conditions (high degree of moisture) or subjected to a higher influence of atmospheric exposure: It is recommended to apply our special products, e.g. ThermoSan, Muresko SilaCryl or PermaSilan. These products contain special algicidal and fungicidal agents to delay the forming of organic growth (fungi & algae).

Please Note (Status as at Date of Publication)
Keep out of reach from children. Use P2 dust filter for grinding. Ensure good ventilation during use and drying. Do not eat, drink or smoke while using the paint. In case of contact with eyes or skin, immediately and thoroughly rinse with water. Do not allow product to enter drains, waterways or soil. Clean utensils immediately after use with soap and water. When spraying: Do not breathe/inhale spray dust (mist).
Further information: See Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
Disposal
Materials and all related packaging must be disposed of in a safe way in accordance with the full requirements of the local authorities. Particular attention should be made to removing wastage from site in compliance with standard construction site procedures. In Germany: Only completely emptied containers should be given for recycling. Dispose containers with residues of liquid product via waste collection point accepting old paints and enamels. Dispose dried/hardened product residues as construction site/demolition/municipal or domestic waste.
