Method of ApplicationRemove all traces of fungal (fungi/mildew/mould) attack on interior surfaces by wet cleaning, in compliance with legal and official regulations (follow e.g. Ordinance on Biological Agents and Ordinance on Hazardous Substances). Remove algae and fungi on exterior surfaces with a water jet, in compliance with the regulations.
Remove plants and suctorial organs of plants by mechanical means and/or deseaming.
Treat the cleaned surfaces liberally with Capatox and allow to dry well.
ConsumptionApprox. 50–150 ml/m2 according to roughness and absorbency of the substrate. Always apply Capatox undiluted.
ToolsAlways apply by paint brush. Clean tools immediately after use with water.
Special Risks (Hazard Note) / Safety Advice (Status as at Date of Publication)Contains alkyldimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride.
Use biocidal products safely. Always read labelling and product information. Causes skin irritation. Keep out of the reach of children. Avoid release to the environment. IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.
DisposalMaterials and all related packaging must be disposed of in a safe way in accordance with the full requirements of the local authorities. Particular attention should be made to removing wastage from site in compliance with standard construction site procedures.
In Germany: Only completely emptied containers should be given for recycling. Dispose containers with residues of liquid product via waste collection point accepting old paints and enamels. Dispose dried/hardened product residues as construction site/demolition/municipal or domestic waste.
Substances of Content - DeclarationWater, additives, alkyldimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride
Statement regarding EcologySurfaces treated with Capatox after cleaning, should not be washed - according to the application instruction - to avoid the forming of waste water. If Capatox-containing waste water occurs in case of façade cleaning, this waste water may be discharged via the sewer into biological sewage plants because cationic substances are inactivated by anionic surfactants from detergents and therefore become bio-degradable.
Do not empty into drains or water courses, e.g. rain water canals. Penetration to underground water must be avoided. The active agent is incompatible to cold-blooded creatures (fishes).
Cover the surrounding of façades, e.g. plants, bushes, soil, to protect from splashes. Direct contact with the micro-biocidal solution will cause damages to the plants.
If minor quantities of solution seep away into the ground, the active agent does not penetrate deeply due to its kationic properties, it becomes effectless and will be biologically degraded. A lasting adverse effect of ground or underground water is not to be worried.
Sanitary PrecautionsCapatox is a special cleaner for interior and exterior surfaces. The product contains a cationic tenside named alkyldimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride.
This active agent is also used as cationic soap in the field of foods, for disinfection of surfaces in creameries/dairies, breweries, meat converting plants, and in hospitals, green houses and small swimming pools.
In the field of cosmetics the active agent is approved for deodorants/antiperspirants and for preservation of cosmetics.
In the field of pharmaceutics the active agent may be used for preservation of eye drops and injection compounds.
For skin disinfection the active agent is an ingredient of wound cleaners, hand disinfectants, etc., and is also used e.g. for hand washing agents in hospitals or for wound up towels, made of cotton.
The widespread use of the active agent of Capatox in food production shops, in the field of human medicine and hygiene, demonstrates the usability of Capatox on interior and exterior building surfaces without sanitary scruples.
