Field of Application
Pigmented priming paint for applying priming coats with a good grip and opacity on stable, mineral exterior and interior surfaces, such as mineral renders/plasters and plasterboards (minimising the risk of flaking for thin layered gypsum fillers).Eminently suitable as adhesion promoting priming coat for subsequently applied coatings of synthetic (organic), silicone resin, silicate-emulsion-based and mineral renders/plasters or coloured stone finish. Facilitates application and texturing and leads to a higher performance.
Particularly suitable for Capatect ETICS/EWI systems A + B or Capatect-VHF (ventilated cladding) systems A + B according to table (see page 2). Additionally the water absorption of exterior rendering will be reduced (diminishes water penetration through surface defects into rendering).
Putzgrund 610 can also be used as a texture giving, tinted priming coat, e.g. for brush-applied semi-transparent glaze-techniques with Arte-Lasur and Deco-Lasur and as a priming coat for Capadecor VarioPutz, Capadecor VarioStone and Capadecor CalcinoDekor.

Suitable Substrates
The substrate must be sound/stable, dry, clean, and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion. Germany: Follow VOB, part C, DIN 18363, section 3.Substrate Preparation
New mineral renders/plasters (also rendering) must be allowed to set without any treatment for min. 2-4 weeks, depending on season and temperature.Exteriors: On highly porous, slightly sanding or absorbent substrates apply one priming coat of OptiGrund. Prime sanding, chalking renders/plasters with Dupa-grund (solvent-based); on ETICS/EWI systems use AmphiSilan-Putzfestiger.
Interiors: Prime soft gypsum substrates with Caparol-Tiefgrund TB. Prime substrates with content of water-soluble, discolouring substances that leave marks with Caparol-Filtergrund grob (coarse-grained). Coat normally absorbent, stable substrates without previous priming.

Thinning
Dilute only with tap (potable) water.Surface Coating System
For priming or intermediate coat the product is adjustable to working consistency to a max. of 10 % with tap (potable) water. The product must be tinted to match the finishing coat in shade, when used before applying tinted coatings of synthetic (organic), silicone resin, silicate-emulsion-based and mineral renders/plasters or coloured stone finishes, Capadecor VarioPutz or Capadecor VarioStone.Consumption
Approx. 250 - 350 g/m2 on an even substrate, depending on intended use and substrate requirements. On roughly textured substrates correspondingly more. Determine the exact amount of material required by coating a test area on site.Application Conditions
Low Temperature Limit for Application and Drying:+5 °C for product, substrate and ambient air.
Drying/Drying Time
At +20 °C and 65 % relative humidity recoatable after approx. 12 hours.Lower temperatures extend the drying time.
Tools
Putzgrund 610 may be applied by paint brush, roller or suitable spraying equipment. Clean tools/equipment immediately after use with water.Note
Do not apply on horizontal surfaces exposed to rain or moisture. When using Caparol-Tiefgrund TB in interiors, a typical solvent odour is released, hence proper ventilation must be provided during application and drying. Use non-aromatic, low-odour AmphiSilan-Putzfestiger in sensitive areas.Compatibility:
In order to retain the specific properties, Putzgrund 610 should only be tinted with CaparolColor, AmphiColor® (AVA) colourants or via ColorExpress. Do not mix with other materials.
Please Note (Status as at Date of Publication)
Keep out of reach from children. Ensure good ventilation during use and drying. Do not eat, drink or smoke while using the product. In case of contact with eyes or skin, immediately and thoroughly rinse with water. Do not allow product to enter drains, waterways or soil. Clean utensils immediately after use with soap and water. Do not breathe spray dust.Further information: See Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
Disposal
Materials and all related packaging must be disposed of in a safe way in accordance with the full requirements of the local authorities. Particular attention should be made to removing wastage from site in compliance with standard construction site procedures.Germany: Only completely empty containers should be handed in for recycling. Dispose containers with residues of liquid product via waste collection point accepting old paints and enamels. Dispose dried/hardened product residues as construction site/demolition/municipal or domestic waste.
