    Substrate Preparation

The substrate must be even, clean, dry, solid, sound/ stable and free from all substances that may
prevent good adhesion. In Germany follow VOB, part C, DIN 18 363, section 3.

Remove unsound coatings of enamel, emulsion paint, synthetic (organic) render/ plaster and unsound mineral paint coatings completely. Clean adherent paint coatings dry or wet.

Clean surfaces infested with organic growth (fungi/ mildew/ mould, moss, algae attack) with a
highpressure water jet, in compliance with the regulations. Then use Capatox and allow to dry
thoroughly. Clean surfaces contaminated with industrial pollution (factory fumes) or soot by highpressure cleaner and suitable cleaning agent, in compliance with the regulations.

With grain sizes < 2.0 mm an additional pre-treatment of the base coat may be necessary.

    Preparation of Material

    Ready to use.
If necessary, adjust to the processing consistency with max. 1% water.

    Method of Application

Fine leveling to create an even substrate:
Level the substrate with Capatect Fassadenputz FEIN. Avoid or smooth the spatula offsets. The substrate must be leveled absolutely even, layer thicknesses must be between 1mm and 2mm.

    Apply the felted layer:
After the fine filler has solidified sufficiently, apply Capatect Fassadenputz FEIN with a rust-free notched trowel and smooth it down to a layer thickness for felting (approx. 1 mm) with a stainless steel trowel. After tightening, felt with a fine sponge disc. After sufficient drying, apply a double coat of suitable facade paint, e.g. ThermoSan NQG.

The choice of tool influences the roughness profile of the surface, therefore always work with the same tools. To achieve a uniform surface, contiguous surfaces should always be carried out by the same craftsman in order to avoid deviations due to different "handwriting". A sufficient number of craftsmen must be used on each scaffolding level in order to avoid irregularities. Work through quickly wet on wet.

Alternatively, in cases where a fine leveling is not required to level the substrate, a single-layer application can also be used. A minimum layer thickness of 2 mm must be ensured.

Capatect Fassadenputz FEIN is not suitable for horizontal surfaces exposed to water.

    Consumption

Approxm. 1.2 kg/m2 per mm of layer thickness

The consumption figures are guide values without loss of bulk or shrinkage. Building-dependent or processing-related deviations must be taken into account.

    Application Conditions

During the application and in the drying phase, the ambient and substrate temperatures must not be below +5°C and above +30°C.
Do not use in direct sunlight, in strong wind, fog or high humidity. If there is strong air movement on the component surface at the time of execution and drying, there is a risk of shrinkage cracks and pore formation in the finishing coat.

    Drying/Drying Time

Surface dry after 24 hours at 20°C and 65% relative humidity. Thoroughly dry, resilient and paintable after 2-3 days. The plaster physically dries by evaporation of the moisture. This means that drying is delayed, especially in the cooler months of the year and when there is high humidity.

If necessary, the finished surface of the finishing coat must be protected until it is sufficiently weatherproof.

    Tool Cleaning

    Immediately after use with water

    Example for Machine Equipment

Please request special information on machine processing.

    Note

It must be taken into account that fine shrinkage cracks cannot be completely ruled out in smoothed or felted structures. However, these are not deficiencies to be complained about.

By using natural fillers and granulates, slight color fluctuations are possible. Therefore only process material with the same production number on contiguous areas or mix materials with different production numbers beforehand.
