Capatect-Fassadenputz Fein

Ready to use fine plaster with organic binder for smooth surfaces within Capatect ETICS.

Field of Application

Smooth organic render, especially for window soffits, borders and smaller facade areas as finish coat on Capetct ETICS as well as final coat on well smoothed concrete or mineral based plaster (groups PII and P III as per DIN 18550-1). Also suitable as finish on matt emulsion- or silicate-based coatings.

Note: Not for use on surfaces containing efflorescence, on plastics and wood or on surfaces with high mechanical stress or with high moisture level.

If necessary, cover the scaffoldings with tarpaulins to protect the surface from rain during the curing phase. Capatect Fassadenputz Fein is unsuitable for applicatlon on horizontal surfaces exposed to rain or moisture.

Suitable Substrates

See "Field of application". The substrate must be flat, clean, dry, solid, stable and free of all substances that may prevent good adhesion.

Substrate Preparation

Existing surfaces (smoothed renders, reinforcement layers) must be absolutely flat. This it is a pre-condition. Capatect Fassadenputz Fein cannot be used to smooth any surface tolerances.  If necessary smooth  with appropriate surfacer. Trowel place in positions should be avoided.

Mould-, moss- and algae-infested areas are to be cleaned by water jet, in compliance with local regulations. Prime with Capatox and allow to dry thoroughly.

To clean surfaces being contaminated with industrial fumes or soot with water jets adding a suitable cleaning agent and in compliance with local regulations.

Prior to or after longer work break eg winter break: Prime uncoated and exposed reinforcement layers  with Putzgrund 610.

Preparation of Material

Stir Capatect Fassadenputz Fein thoroughly with a slow-speed electric stainless steel paddle. If necessary adjust to working consistency with max. 1 % of tap water.

Method of Application

Apply the material by stainless steel trowel or suitable spraying device for fine renders homogeneously to the complete surface. Smooth the surface after the start of the curing process with a slightly wet sponge trowel.

The layer thickness is limited up to 2 - 3 mm (one coat) or 5 mm (two coats).

To achieve a uniform aspect always the same craftsmen should finish a surface and always with the same kind of trowel.

A sufficient number of craftsmen should apply the material wet-on-wet without interruption to avoid lapping.
On wet-smoothened surfaces small shrinking cracks may occur. This is not a hidden fault and cannot be objected.

Approx. 1.5 kg/m2 per coat without spilling or loss on site; the substrate may affect consumption.

Application Conditions

Processing temperature: Min. +5 °C to max. + 30 °C for material, substrate and ambient air during application and curing. Do not apply in direct sunlight, during strong wind, fog, high relative humidity (RH) and imminent rain or frost.

Drying/Drying Time

At 20 °C and 65% RH surface-dry after approx. 24 hours. Thoroughly cured, ready for stress and recoatable after 2—3 days.

The render dries physically, i.e. by film forming of emulsion and by evaporation of water.
Lower temperatures and higher relative humidity will lengthen the drying process.

Tool Cleaning

Immediately after use with water

Capatect Fassadenputz Fein must always be coated with two layers of ThermoSan NQG paint to protect the facade against moisture and growth of algae and fungi (normal exposure).

Being natural products, the granular materials used In the render/plaster finishes, may occasionally cause slight differences of shade in the finished coatlng.
lt is therefore recommended to use only material marked with identical batch
numbers or, if utilising material from different batches, to mix the entire quantity needed in advance.
