Field of Application
Transparent, silk gloss protective sealer for dispersion based interior floor coatings sprinkled with chips, such as DISBON 400 BodenFinish and DISBON 404 Acryl-BodenSiegel.Do not use on surfaces subjected to mechanical stress caused by wheeled traffic and surfaces with permanent water loads or wet conditions.
Material Properties
- Emission-minimised
- Tested for harmful substances by technical control board (TÜV)
- Easy to clean
- Abrasion resistant
- Stain-resistant
Tested & approved according to AgBB testing criteria for VOC emissions from building material that is used for interior work. The criteria of AgBB (Ausschuss zur gesundheitlichen Bewertung von Bauprodukten; Comission for the sanitary evaluation of building material) are elaborated by the ecological and sanitary authorities for the use of building material in "delicate/sensitive" areas, as e.g. lounges. |
Material Base / Vehicle
Modified polyurethane dispersionPackaging/Package Size
2.5 l, 10 l plastic bucketColours
Transparent.
Discolouration and chalking effects may occur with weathering and UV light exposure. The colourants in, e.g. coffee, red wine or leaves (organic dyestuffs) and various chemicals, e. g. disinfectants, acids, etc., may cause discolouration. Scratch-marks may appear on the surface caused by continuous rubbing. Proper functioning of the coating will not be affected by these changes.
Gloss Level
Silk gloss
Storage
Keep in a cool, dry and frost-free place.Shelf life of the original, tightly closed packaging: Minimum 1 year.
If temperatures are low, the material should be stored at 20 °C before application.
Density
approx. 1.1 g/cm3Dry film thickness
approx. 42 µm/100 ml/m2Resistance-count for diffusion µ (H2O)
approx. 4,000Ultimate elongation to DIN 53504
approx. 70 %Suitable Substrates
Bonded dispersion based floor coatings, e.g. DISBON 400 BodenFinish and DISBON 404 Acryl-Boden-Siegel. The substrates must be dry, sound, dimensionally stable, solid and free from dust, oil, fats/greases, skid marks and all materials that may prevent good adhesion.Substrate Preparation
Prepare the substrate in order to meed the above listed requirements by suitable measures, such as thorough sweeping and aspiration (particularly for surfaces sprinkled with chips).Preparation of Material
The material is ready for use. Stirr thoroughly before application.Method of Application
Use a short-fibre paint roller.Surface Coating System
Smooth surfaceGenerously apply crosswise one or two uniform coats of DISBON 405. To avoid visible lapping, the application on connected surfaces should not be interrupted.
Slip-resistant surface
Stir 3 % by weight of DISBON 947 Slidestop thoroughly into DISBON 405 then apply it as described under "Smooth surface”. Stir once again between longer breaks.
Consumption
Smooth surface | |
DISBON 405 Klarsiegel | approx. 130–150 ml/m2 |
Slip-resistant surface | |
DISBON 405 Klarsiegel DISBON 947 SlideStop Fine | approx. 130 ml/m2 approx. 4 g/m2 |
The exact rate of consumption is best established by a trial application on site.
Application Conditions
Material, atmospheric and substrate temperature:Min. 5 °C, max. 30 °C during application and drying.
Relative humidity must not exceed 80 %. Substrate temperature should always be min. 3 °C above the dew point temperature.
Drying/Drying Time
At 20 °C and 60% relative humidity, walkable or recoatable after approximately 8 hours. Ready for mechanical loads after approximately 2 days.Lower temperatures extend the drying time.
Tool Cleaning
Immediately after use and during long breaks with water or warm soapy water.
Please Note (Status as at Date of Publication)
Contains: 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one, 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one. May produce an allergic reaction. Use P2 dust filter for grinding. Do not breathe spray dust. Use A2/P2 combination filter for paint spraying. Restricted to professional users.
Disposal
Only completely emptied containers should be given for recycling. Dispose containers with residues of liquid material as remnants of water-based paints and dried material as hardened paints waste or via domestic waste.

CE labelling is based on DIN EN 13813 "Screed mortars, screed compounds and screeds – screed mortars and screed compounds – Properties and Requirements" defining the requirements for screed mortars being used for floor constructions in interiors. The standard also include synthetic resin coatings and sealing.
Products matching the above mentioned standard are to be labelled on the container with the CE mark. Corresponding information (performance record according to BauPVO) is given on our website www.disbon.de
