Field of Application
Transparent wood stain (wood glazing) with a high protective effect against UV light and moisture.Applicable on dimensionally stable wood, e.g. doors and windows, on limited dimensionally stable wood, e.g. wooden boards with tongue and groove, shutters, gates, etc., and suitable for coating dimensionally unstable wooden parts, e.g. panelling, balustrades, fences, etc.
Use Capadur TwinProof preferably for bright conifers, such as pines, spruces and fir trees.
Test application is advisable before applying on dark wood (see below "Colours, Note:").
Capadur TwinProof is provided with a preservative against deterioration in the coating film due to fungal (fungi/mildew/mould) and algal attack. The film preservative has a delaying effect to infestation. On highly endangered wooden parts like soffits of flat roofs or plate-type boards (e.g. made of maritime pines) a premature infestation must be considered, depending on the biological loads on site, even before expiration of usual warranty time.
The product cannot be used for wood with permanent contact to water and ground/soil.
Only to be used for exterior substrates, due to the content of film preservation. The interior surfaces of exterior windows and doors belong to the exterior surfaces and can be coated on all sides.
Material Properties
- High transparency.
- UV protection due to nanotechnology.
- Moisture proofing due to providing a water-repellent surface (hydroperl: water droplets roll off effect).
- Provided with a preservative against deterioration in the coating film due to fungal attack (fungi/mildew/mould).
- Thin film woodstain (wood glazing), allows easy renovation.
- Water-thinnable/-dilutable.
- Polyurethane modified.
- Non-blocking.
- Low dripping consistency.
Material Base / Vehicle

750 ml, 5 lColours
Colourless with a high transparency.
The impression of colour shade and gloss level are influenced by the condition of the wood surface
as well as the number of coats and the quantity of applied product.
Note:
UV protection is achieved using micronised titanium dioxide. This may lead to a whitish shade on dark wood or when applying higher quantities of product. Furthermore, discolouration may occur on wood with a high content of ingredients, e.g. oak. Hence a preliminary test application on such wood is advisable.
Gloss Level
Silk-matt/semi-gloss (mid sheen / velvet or eggshell-like finish)Storage
Keep in a dry, cool and frost-free place.

Suitable Substrates
Stable wood, limited dimensionally stable wood and dimensionally unstable wooden parts. The substrate must be clean, sound/stable, dry, and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion.
Wood moisture content (WMC): Maximum permissible WMC of dimensionally stable wood: 13 %; limited dimensionally stable or unstable wood: 15 %.
Follow the principles of constructional wood preservation. They are the basis for longlasting wood preservation with coating materials. Follow BFS Data Sheet No. 18 section 2.2.3. for applying the product on panel-like derived timber products, e.g. solid wood, veneer layered plywood, particle boards or wood fibreboards.
Advice for the upkeep of coated wooden parts:
A long-term maintenance of value is only achievable by professional upkeep at regular intervals.
In Germany: Follow the advice given in BFS Data Sheet No. 18, affix C.
Substrate Preparation
Existing Wood:
Sand (abrade/grind off) greyed, weathered surfaces to the stable, solid substrate and clean the surface. Impregnate with Capacryl Holz SchutzGrund.
New Wood:
Sand even, planed surfaces in fibre direction, clean thoroughly and remove seeping wood contents,
e.g. wood resin/rosin. Impregnate with Capacryl Holz SchutzGrund.
Preparation of Material
Capadur TwinProof is ready to use, but should be stirred before applying.Brush application: Use special brushes for applying acrylic enamels (mixture of polyester and natural bristles, e.g. Orelmix).
Roller application: Use short pile polyamide roller.
Capadur TwinProof is provided with a preservative against deterioration in the coating film due to fungal attack and can only be applied by spraying equipment within closed sites.

Consumption
70 - 100 ml/m2 per coat.Consumption is influenced by the substrate condition, e.g. roughness or absorbency.
The exact consumption is best established by a trial coating (test area) on site.
Application Conditions
Lower Temperature Limit for Application and Drying:
+ 8 °C for product, substrate and ambient air.
Drying/Drying Time
At 20 °C and 65 % relative humidity the subsequent coat can be applied after 1 hour, at the earliest. Stacking of coated parts: after 8 hours, at the earliest. Completely dry after approx.2 days. The drying time is extended at lower temperatures and higher humidity or in case of insufficient air exchange, e.g. when boards are packed closely.
Tool Cleaning
Clean tool after use with water and wetting agent. We recommend
the wearing of nitrile gloves.
