Substrates

The substrate must be solid (sound/stable), dry, clean, even and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion. Follow Technical Information No. 650.
In Germany: Follow supplementary information given in VOB, part C, DIN 18363, section 3.

Method of Application

Applicable with paint brush, roller and airless spray equipment.

Airless Application:
Spray angle: 40° - 50°
Nozzle size: 0.017" - 0.019"
Pressure: 180 - 200 bar
The airless applied product should always be rolled over with a lambskin roller (12 to 14 mm piles) to obtain an even and proper coat of glue.

Bonding Technique:
Apply the product liberally and evenly to the substrate in the width of approx. 1 to 3 lengths, using lambskin roller or airless equipment. Then apply the fleece or glass fabrics without delay and carefully press on with a wallpaper scraper or roller, avoiding blistering. On slightly absorbent substrates and at low temperature or high relative humidity: Allow the glue to flash off sufficiently before applying fleeces or glass fabrics.

Application:
Always follow the corresponding Technical Information before applying the wall covering.

Consumption

Glass Fabrics:
Finely textured glass fabrics and fleeces: approx. 150 g/m²
Medium textured: approx. 100 - 250 g/m²

Determine the exact amount of material required by coating a test area on site.

Application Conditions

Lower Temperature Limit for Application and Drying:
+5 °C for product, substrate and ambient air.

Drying/Drying Time

At +20 °C and 65 % relative humidity surface-dry and recoatable after approx. 6 - 12 hours.
Thoroughly dry after approx. 3 days. Lower temperatures and higher relative humidity extend the drying time.

Note

Bonding of Capaver AkkordVliese: High material consumption may lead to the opening of edgings and should be avoided.

Reworking of gypsum fillers/surfacers: Provide for fast drying by means of sufficient ventilation and temperature to avoid swelling, blistering and spallings caused by long-lasting exposure to moisture.

Keep out of reach of children. Avoid release to the environment. IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.

Disposal

Only completely emptied containers should be given for recycling. Materials and all related packaging must be disposed of in a safe way in accordance with the full requirements of the local authorities. In Germany: Dispose containers with residues of liquid product via waste collection point accepting old paints and enamels. Dispose dried/hardened product residues as construction site/demolition/municipal or domestic waste.
