Specified fixed values represent average values that may vary slightly from delivery to delivery due to the use of natural raw materials.
The "allgemeine bauaufsichtliche Zulassung" (general building authority approval) / "allgemeine Bauartgenehmigung" (general building type approval) of the underlying ETIC systems and the technical information of the products must be observed.
Substrate Preparation
Mask window sills and attachments.
Carefully cover glass, ceramics, clinker, natural stone, painted, glazed and anodised surfaces, as well as surfaces to be protected.
Ensure a uniform joint width of 3-20 mm or a width according to approval.
After positioning the ceramic cladding and before the laying adhesive has set, smooth or scrape
The laying adhesive must be set and completely dry at the time of grouting. The substrate must be even, have a closed surface and be free of any residues that could reduce adhesion.
Preparation of Material
- 25 kg material (one bag) in approx. 4.0-5.0 l water
The material can be mixed with a powerful, slow-running agitator or compulsory mixer and clean, cold water to form a lump-free paste.
Work again after approx. 3-5 minutes. If necessary, the consistency can be adjusted with a little water after this resting time.
Depending on the weather, the processing time is approx. 30 minutes (pot life).
Never use water to make material that has already started to set workable again.
The consistency of the mixed grout mortar is correctly adjusted when the mortar compressed in the hand does not disintegrate after being rolled back and forth several times in the open palm of the hand, but is also not particularly sticky.
To ensure an even colour, the specified and constant amount of mixing water and the maturing time must be observed.
Do not add any more water during processing. This will lead to colour differences.
Only mix as much grout as can be processed within the pot life.
Method of Application
Grouting:
Use a rubber grout float or sponge board to insert the grout into the prepared joints. Ensure that the joints are completely filled. Push off excess material diagonally.
After the grout has started to set or dry on the cladding, clean with a sponge board using a small amount of water. Clean the sponge board frequently and change the water regularly. Work diagonally to the joint without washing out the joint. Washing the surface too soon can cause efflorescence. Depending on the weather conditions, wash approx. 10-45 minutes after applying the grout.
Protect the grout from frost, draughts, precipitation, direct sunlight and high temperatures during the first few days.
Follow-up treatment:
Depending on the weather conditions, moisten (‘fog’) the completed grouting regularly with a suitable device, e.g. Gloria sprayer, during the first few days to prevent the grout from burning.
Cleaning:
Contaminants, haze, residues on the grouted hard surface covering can be removed with a suitable cleaner. Only use alkali-free, acid-free and non-scratching cleaning agents. Use sufficient fresh water for cleaning. When selecting cleaners, take into account that the grout is not acid-resistant. Test cleaning in inconspicuous places and evaluate them before cleaning large areas. The wrong cleaning agent can cause colour changes and damage the joint. Improper cleaning will void the warranty.
Consumption
Dimension of brick slips [mm] | Approx. consumption [kg/m2] with joint depth | ||
8 mm | 10 mm | 15 mm | |
240 x 71 (NF) | 3,0-4,0 | 3,5 - 4,5 | 5,5-6,5 |
240 x 52 (DF) | 3,2-4,2 | 4,0 - 5,0 | 6,0-7,0 |
600 x 300 | 0,8-1,8 | 1,0 - 2,0 | 1,5-2,5 |
These figures are intended as a guide only. Consumption depends on the format, joint width, joint depth and layout.

Application Conditions
During the application and in the drying phase, the ambient and substrate temperatures must not be below +5 °C and above +30 °C.
Do not apply in direct sunlight, strong wind, fog or high humidity. Please refer to the leaflet "Verputzen, Wärmedämmen, Spachteln, Beschichten bei hohen und tiefen Temperaturen" (Rendering, Thermal Insulation, Filling, Coating at High and Low Temperatures) from the Bundesverband Ausbau und Fassade (Federal Association for Finishing and Façades).
In unfavourable weather conditions, take suitable measures to protect the facade surfaces being treated.
Drying/Drying Time
The drying time depends, among other things, on the weather conditions and the layer thickness. Lower temperatures and/or higher humidity will extend the drying time.
Tool Cleaning
When fresh, with water, observing the legal requirements.
When dry, with tile and brick cleaner or mechanically.
Note
Before processing, the material must be checked for colour accuracy and consistency. Complaints about deviations from the delivery target cannot be accepted after processing. Reference is made to the "Leitfaden zu Prüfpflichten bei Anlieferung von Tönware im Rahmen der Untersuchungs- und Rügepflicht (§ 377 HGB)" of the VDPM (Guidelines for inspection obligations when delivering tinted goods within the scope of the obligation to inspect and give notice of defects (§ 377 HGB).
On continuous surfaces, only use material with the same batch number or mix material from different batches beforehand.
When tinting, deviations in the technical characteristics are possible.
It is recommended to create a test area.
Natural colour shifts and shade differences are possible with different batches and drying conditions.
High substrate moisture or strongly varying absorbency of substrate and tile edges can cause colour differences.
Non-uniform material, fluctuating amounts of mixing water and failure to observe the maturing time can lead to an uneven colour, especially with highly pigmented or dark joint colours.
With a slightly porous, matt or irregular surface or joint edges of the cladding, residues of the joint mortar may form after cleaning with a sponge board.
Use elastic joint sealants to seal connecting joints between materials with different thermal expansion coefficients.
Special Risks (Hazard Note) / Safety Advice (Status as at Date of Publication)
Causes skin irritation. Causes serious eye damage. May cause respiratory irritation. Avoid breathing dust. Wash skin thoroughly after handling. Wear protective gloves/ eye protection/ face protection. IF INHALED: Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. Call a POISON CENTER/ doctor if you feel unwell. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Immediately call a POISON CENTER/ doctor.
Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed.
Contains: Cement, portland, chemicals.
For commercial/industrial applications.
Aqueous cement suspensions have an alkaline effect. Wear long trousers! Avoid prolonged skin contact with the plaster. Thoroughly clean any affected areas of the skin immediately using water. The longer fresh plaster remains on the skin, the greater the danger of serious skin damage. Keep children away from fresh plaster! The safety instructions issued by the manufacturer must be strictly followed during the application phase.
