    Supplementary Product

    DisboPUR W 458 2K-PU-Versiegelung

The mechanical and chemical durability of Latex Satin 20 can be significantly improved by double-coating with protective seal DisboPUR W 458. Application is only possible on light/bright colours of luminosity/lightness index (LI) approx. 100 – 70. The protective seal causes a significantly duller surface and can lead to a slight colour change. On Capaver® Glasgewebe highly sturdy surfaces are achievable. The use of glass fabrics from other manufacturers may cause slight yellowing.

    Suitable Substrates

The substrate must be sound/stable, dry, clean, and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion. In Germany: Follow VOB, part C, DIN 18 363, section 3.

    Substrate Preparation

Renders according to DIN EN 998-1 class CS II - CS IV / compressive strength min. 2 N/mm2: Solid, normally absorbent and even renders can be coated without primer coat. Prime slightly sanding, absorbent renders with OptiSilan TiefGrund, CapaSol RapidGrund or Sylitol RapidGrund 111. Prime more sanding renders with OptiSilan TiefGrund.

Gypsum plasters according to DIN EN 13279-1 / compressive strength min. 2 N/mm2: Sand and remove dust from gypsum plasters with sintered skin, prime with OptiSilan TiefGrund.

Plasterboards: Prime absorbent boards with OptiSilan TiefGrund (for panelling, see also gypsum plasterboard).

Gypsum plasterboard: Sand off filler burrs and remove dust from the surface. Prime sanded gypsum filler areas and gypsum plasterboard with OptiSilan TiefGrund, CapaSol RapidGrund or Sylitol RapidGrund 111. Always apply a primer coat with OptiSilan TiefGrund in the case of strong absorption behavior. For boards with water-soluble, discoloring ingredients, prime with Caparol AquaSperrgrund. Observe BFS data sheet no. 12.

Concrete: Remove all residues of separating agent and chalking or sanding substances. Prime with OptiSilan TiefGrund, CapaSol RapidGrund or Sylitol RapidGrund 111.

    Load-bearing coatings:
Directly recoat matt, slightly absorbent coatings. Roughen glossy surfaces and lacquer coatings.

    Non-stable coatings:
Remove non-stable varnish and emulsion paint or synthetic resin plaster coatings. Prime coarse porous, sandy or absorbent surfaces with OptiSilan TiefGrund. Remove non-load-bearing mineral paint coatings mechanically and remove dust from the surfaces. Prime with OptiSilan TiefGrund.

    Distemper coatings:
Wash off thoroughly. Apply a primer coat with Dupa-Putzfestiger. Alternatively, remove mechanically, rinse and prime with OptiSilan TiefGrund.

Woodchip, relief or embossed paper wallpapers, non-adhesive wallpapers: Remove completely. Wash off paste and waste residue. Prime with OptiSilan TiefGrund.

Surfaces with nicotine, water, soot or grease stains:
Wash off nicotine stains and soot or grease stains with water with the addition of grease-dissolving cleaning agents and allow to dry thoroughly. Clean dried water stains by dry brushing. Apply a sealing primer coat with Caparol AquaSperrgrund fein (observe Technical Information No. 384) or Caparol-Filtergrund grob (observe Technical Information No. 845).

Wood and Derived Timber Products: One priming coat of Capacryl Holz-Isogrund. On panels coated with melamine resin in the factory, apply a primer coat of Capacryl adhesion primer. The joint areas/panel joints must not be reworked without cracks. For higher visual requirements, a decoupling layer with thin gypsum boards with appropriate levelling is recommended.

    Old lime levelling techniques:
Remove the sintered layer on the surface by sanding. If the wetting test with water on the sanded surface is negative, the entire layer of lime filler must be removed and the substrate rebuilt accordingly. If the wetting test with water on the sanded surface is positive, prime with OptiSilan TiefGrund.

    Defects: Fill deep holes accordingly.

Note Q2/Q3 filling / thin layers of gypsum < 0.5 mm
    :
When using gypsum-based, hydraulically setting fillers in quality level Q2/Q3, a transparent, water-based primer is recommended. Please refer to the Maler&Lackierer leaflet no. 2 -9/2020 "Adhesion problems of coatings on filled gypsum (cardboard) boards" issued by the Bundesverband Farbe, Gestaltung, Bautenschutz and the Bundesausschuss Farbe und Sachwertschutz.
As an alternative to gypsum-based Q3 fillers, fillers with pasty fillers have proven their worth.

    Method of Application

Can be applied with a brush, roller and airless equipment.

    Airless application:

    Dilutionmax. 5% with water
    Airless device
    Spray pressure150 - 180 bar
    Spray angle40° - 50°
    Nozzle size in Inch0.019" - 0.021"
Plug-in gun filter in MWca. 0.31 mm
    Innengespeiste Rollensysteme
    Spray pressure80 - 120 bar
Plug-in gun filter in MWca. 0.31 mm

Clean tools with water after use.

    Surface Coating System

Always apply one priming and one finishing coat of Latex Satin 20.

    White coat:
A rich, even coat undiluted or diluted with a maximum of 5 % water. On high-contrast surfaces, apply a previous primer coat diluted with a maximum of 5 % water. On differently absorbent substrates, apply a primer coat of HaftGrund EG.

    Coloured coat:
Stir the material thoroughly immediately before use.
To avoid roller marks, apply the coat generously and evenly and always roll in one direction after a short flash-off time. Always apply trimming areas wet-on-wet.

    Consumption

Approx. 140 ml/m2 per coat on smooth substrates. On roughly textured surfaces correspondingly more. Determine the exact amount of material required by coating a test area on site.

    Application Conditions

Lower Temperature Limit for Application and Drying:
+5 °C for product, substrate and ambient air.

    Drying/Drying Time

At +20 °C and 65 % relative humidity surface-dry and recoatable after 4 - 6 hours. Completely dry and ready for stress after approx. 3 days. Lower temperatures and higher humidity extend the drying time.

    Note

Coat wet-on-wet in one go to avoid build-up. For airless spraying, stir the paint well and sieve. Markings from touch-ups on the surface depend on many factors and are therefore unavoidable (BFS data sheet 25). The use of phenol-based surface disinfectants can lead to yellowing of the surface.

Please Note (Status as at Date of Publication)

Contains 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one, reaction mass of 5-chloro-2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one and 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one (3:1). May cause allergic reactions. Caution! Spraying may produce hazardous respirable droplets. Do not inhale aerosol or mist. Hotline for allergy enquiries: 0800/1895000 (free of charge from a German landline).
