Field of Application
Water-dilutable, transparent (colourless) emulsion primer for equalizing solid substrates with high or uneven absorbency. The primer is particularly suitable for use on AAC (autoclaved aerated concrete) / cellular concrete. Priming with Capaplex has also a noticeably extending effect on the drying process (open time) of subsequently applied coatings of synthetic plastic paint. Also suitable as wash-resistant, transparent, non-yellowing coating for wallpapers.
Material Properties
- Weatherproof.
- Water-dilutable.
- Ecologically compatible, low odour.
- Solidifies the substrate.
- Transparent after drying.
- Non-yellowing.
Material Base / Vehicle
Modified aqueous (water based) synthetic resin dispersion/emulsion.
Packaging/Package Size
1 litre, 5 litres and 10 litres

Suitable Substrates
The substrates must be sound/stable, dry, clean, and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion. In Germany: Follow VOB, part C, DIN 18363, section 3.Substrate Preparation
See Technical Information No. 650 "Substrates and their Preparation" for suitability of the product on various substrates and their special pre-treatment.Thinning
Dilute with tap (potable) water only.
Surface Coating System
On substrates with normal absorbency apply Capaplex diluted with 1 - 2 parts of tap (potable) water. On highly absorbent substrates apply Capaplex diluted with 3 - 4 parts of tap water (two applications, if necessary).
On uncoated AAC (autoclaved aerated concrete) apply Capaplex diluted with 3 parts of tap water.
To achieve silk-matt coatings or as wallpaper protective coating in interiors, dilute Capaplex with 1 - 2 parts of tap water. For matt coatings dilute with 4 parts of tap water and for satin-finished coatings apply Capaplex without dilution.
Improve glue-bound distemper (limewater colour/paint) with approx. 5 % of Capaplex.
In individual cases a partial dissolution of colour prints may occur on some types of wallpapers. Hence, the compatibility must always be tested by a previously applied trial coat.
Consumption
Approx. 50 - 200 ml/m2 depending on dilution, absorbency of the substrate and substrate condition. Determine the exact amount of material required and degree of dilution by coating a test area on site.
Application Conditions
Lower Temperature Limit for Application and Drying:+5 °C for product, substrate and ambient air.
Drying/Drying Time
At +20 °Cand 65 % relative humidity recoatable after approx. 12 hours. Lower temperatures extend the drying time.
Tools
Applicable with paint brush, roller or airless spraying equipment.
Airless application:
