Suitable SubstratesAll normal interior mineral substrates. The substrate must be sound/stable, dry, clean and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion. In Germany: Follow VOB, part C, DIN 18363, section 3.
Preparation of MaterialPrepare the content of one bag of Caparol-Füllspachtel P (20 kg) with approx. 14 litres of tap (potable) water and mix thoroughly with an electric paddle mixer/agitator.
Method of ApplicationPush away or sand down (grind off) any existing burrs and remove all soiling.
The surface to be treated must always be prewetted, then fill joints, splices of concrete slabs, cracks, defects or shrinkage holes with Caparol-Füllspachtel P.
Caparol-Füllspachtel P is applicable to a maximum layer thickness of 20 mm per work step. It is highly recommended to carry out joint levellings and larger repairs in two work steps.
Surface Coating SystemSubsequent Treatement:
A priming coat can be omitted, if Caparol-Dispersionsspachtel (emulsion filler/surfacer) is used for the following coat. For paint or textured plaster coatings a previously applied priming coat with suitable primer is necessary, depending on the selected material system.
Approx. 300 g/m at 10 mm (deep and wide).
Surface treatmet and repairs:
Approx. 1300 g/m2 per mm of layer thickness.
Application ConditionsWorking Time:
Prepared material should be applied within approx. 30 minutes.
Lower Temperature Limit for Application and Drying:
+5 ° C for substrate and ambient air.
Drying/Drying TimeApprox. 24 hours, depending on the building moisture, temperature and layer/coating thickness.
The drying time is considerably longer for a higher layer thickness.
Tool CleaningImmediately after use with water.
NoteDo not use Caparol-Füllspachtel P for moist rooms (damp locations).
Please Note (Status as at Date of Publication)Keep out of reach of children. Do not breathe dust. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Use personal protective equipment as required. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.
Further information: See Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
DisposalMaterials and all related packaging must be disposed of in a safe way in accordance with the full requirements of the local authorities. Particular attention should be made to removing wastage from site in compliance with standard construction site procedures.
In Germany: Only completely empty bags should be handed in for recycling. Dispose dried/hardened product residues as mixed construction site and demolition waste.
Technical AssistanceAs it is impossible to list herein the wide variety of substrates and their specific problems, please request our technical assistance in case of queries. We will describe appropriate working methods, if a substrate not specified above is to be coated.
