Field of Application
Moisture regulating window coating system for exterior and interior use, suitable as priming, intermediate and finishing coat.On folding shutters the use of Capadur Color Wetterschutzfarbe is recommended, due to the oftentimes adverse constructional conditions. Do not apply on timber framing or wooden facades.
Due to the product typical odour, the use of Capacryl PU-Satin is recommended for extended indoor applications.
Material Properties
- Elegant and easy application.
- Moisture regulating.
- Fast-drying.
- Good edge-covering properties.
- Resistant to normal household detergents and short-time resistant to weak acids and alkalis.
- Free of aromatic hydrocarbons.
Material Base / Vehicle
Alkyd resin, solvent based, free of aromatic hydrocarbons.Packaging/Package Size

Colours
White.Tintable via the ColorExpress (Capalac mix) tinting & mixing machine system.
When applying the product in colour shades of low opacity, e.g. red, orange or yellow, it is advisable to previously apply one priming coat, tinted in a matching priming system colour.
Priming system colours are available via ColorExpress for the following products: Capalac Venti, Capalac AllGrund, Capalac Vorlack and Capalac GrundierWeiß.
Please Note: If necessary, apply one sealing coat of clear coating material Capalac Kunstharz-Klarlack on coatings in intensive or deep/dark colours, to prevent a slight abrasion of pigments.
Note: The typical yellowing of alkyd resins may occur on white and light/bright colours and cannot be objected (caused by low UV radiation, heat or chemical influences due to e.g. ammonia vapour from cleaning agents, adhesives, paint or sealing compounds).
Colour Resistance according to BFS Data Sheet No. 26:
Binder: Class B
Pigmentation: Group 1 to 3, depending on the colour.

Suitable Substrates
Dimensionally stable and limited stable wooden component parts.Substrates must be clean, sound/stable, dry and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion.
Max. permissible moisture content in dimensionally stable wood: 13 %; in limited stable wood: 15 %.
Substrate Preparation
New Wooden Parts:
Sand/grind the surface in fibre direction, clean thoroughly, remove seeping wood contents, e.g. wood resin/rosin and resin galls/pitch pockets, cut sharp edges (see BFS Data Sheet No. 18).
Existing, Untreated Wood:
Sand/grind off greyed, weathered surfaces to the stable, solid substrate and clean the surface thoroughly. Cut sharp edges (see BFS Data Sheet No. 18).
Coated Wood:
Remove all unstable existing coatings completely to the stable substrate. Roughen/sand and clean the surface of existing, adherent coatings.
Method of Application
Guideline for Spray Application:Ø Nozzle | Pressure | Thinning | Material Temperature | |
Aircoat-Tempspray | 0.011 - 0.013 inch | 180 - 200 bar | ready to use | 35 °C |
Application:
Spraying with Aircoat is possible in consistency of delivery when the product is heated before use (Tempspray). Capalac Venti is applicable with varnish brush or roller and is ready for use.

1) | Apply two intermediate coats on dimensionally stable wood component parts, as per BFS Data Sheet No. 18. Accordingly, apply an impregnation, priming, and intermediate coat before installation and an intermediate and finishing coat after installation. Please follow BFS Data Sheet No. 18 (Germany). |
2) | Defective areas of existing paint coatings (visible wood/timber) must be impregnated with Capalac Holz-Imprägniergrund. The interior surfaces of outer windows and doors belong to the exterior surfaces and may also be impregnated inside (on all sides) with Capalac Holzimprägniergrund. |
Consumption

Consumption ml/m2/per coat | 100 - 110 | 90 - 100 | 130 |
Consumption is a reference value only and may vary, depending on the substrate and its condition. Determine the exact amount of material required by coating a test area on site.
Application Conditions
Lower Temperature Limit for Application and Drying:Min. 5 °C for product, substrate and ambient air.
Drying/Drying Time
At 20 °C and 65 % relative humidity | Dust Dry | Touch Dry | Recoatable (brush) | Recoatable (spraying) |
after hours | 3 | 6 - 7 | 4 - 6 | 6 |
Lower temperatures, higher humidity and higher layer thickness (higher consumption) extend the drying time.
