Substrate Preparation

All substrates must be load-bearing, level, clean and free from adhesion-reducing residues.
For external thermal insulation composite systems, glue the profiles on the suitable and dry base coat.
The evenness of the surface of the cured base coat should not exceed a pitch of 2 mm in relation to the maximum edge length of the windowsill profile to be applied.
Check concrete and untreated plaster for load-bearing capacity, remove release agent residues and loose parts. Prime absorbent substrates accordingly.

Application Conditions

During processing, temperatures must not fall below + 5 °C. Do not apply on surfaces heated up by the sun, or during rain or strong wind.

Drying/Drying Time

At 20°C and 65% RH approx. 24 hours for the façade profile bonded with "Capatect Capapor Profilkleber 121/109". Lower temperatures and higher humidity extend the curing time.

Tool Cleaning

Immediately after use with water.

Installation, Fixing, Cut

Preliminary works
Remove dust and adhesion-reducing residues from decorative and facade profiles, adjust length if necessary. A cross-cut or miter saw is recommended for cutting.

Installation
"Capatect Capapor Fensterbankprofile" must always be executed on second sealing level. Bond the window sill profiles to the load-bearing, level substrate with sealing level using "Capatect SockelFlex" or "Capatect SockelFlex Carbon".
Prior preparation of the second sealing level is carried out in accordance with the Capatect processing instructions.
Remove dust from decorative profiles and interfaces prior to installation. Beforehand, the edges of the decorative and facade profiles to be coated must be broken by the customer using a residual piece or sanding block.

Primer
The upper surfaces of the window sill profiles to be coated later with "Capatect SockelFlex" must be primed with "CapaSol Konzentrat" diluted 1:2 with water.

Prime the end faces of the profiles in the area of the connecting joints (joint flanks) with "CapaSol Konzentrat" diluted 1:2 with water before reworking.
Practical tip:Prime the joint edges already before bonding.

Bonding
Apply "Capatect SockelFlex" or "Capatect SockelFlex Carbon" over the entire surface with a notched trowel (notch 15 mm) to the substrate, drawn off in drainage direction to the facade (adhesive strip in slope direction). The "Capatect Capapor Fensterbankprofile" are always bonded in a toothed bed with adhesive applied in the direction of water drainage. Float in facade profiles with slight pressure and press firmly, if necessary secure against slipping. Make sure that the underside of the window sill profiles is not sealed with adhesive mortar to allow drainage. It is not possible to glue angle elements on the vertical, in the case of angled window sills, to ensure the functionality of the second sealing level.

Apply "Capatect Fugendichtband 2D 054 / Flex 085" and elastic sealant (e.g. "Capatect Fugenmasse MS") to the circumferential joint of the profiles or the connection to the frame and reveal. When connecting the window sill profiles to the frame, the currently valid construction details must also be observed.

Combination of "Rahmen-, Gurt- und Fensterbankprofilen"
The combination of "Rahmen-, Gurt- und Fensterbankprofilen" is always done in two parts. In the two-part design, the frame and belt profiles must be installed under the window sill cover before the formation of the second sealing level in order to be able to apply the second sealing level continuously and completely to the horizon surface, thus ensuring water drainage.

A one-piece design is possible if the bend is no more than three times as long as the thickness of the profile. The profile projection over the finished ETICS surface must not exceed 50 mm.

Horizontal profile surfaces
Horizontal profile surfaces with a projection >20 mm must be designed with a slope of more than 5° or 8 % leading away from the facade. Depending on the profile geometry and thickness, drip edges are to be provided at the front edge if possible. Drip edges must be located at least 30 mm in front of the finished facade surface.

Joints
Window sill profiles must not be butt-jointed.

Painting and finishing
Cut "Kobau Elastic Fabric 10/10" to window sill size minus 5 mm edge distance. Allow primer to dry. Fill the upper face of the "Capapor Fensterbankprofile" with "Capatect SockelFlex / SockelFlex Carbon" as reinforcement layer and embed "KobauElastic Gewebe 10/10". Allow reinforcement to dry. Smooth the surface with "Capatect SockelFlex / SockelFlex Carbon".
After sufficient drying of the filler, coat the window sill profile with at least 2 layers of "Disbon 404".

Minor damage to the profiles can be repaired with "Capatect Capapor Profilspachtel 121/110".

Trowelled window sill variant
As an alternative to the above-mentioned variant, the design without Capaporprofil is possible as a trowelled window sill variant with "Capatect SockelFlex" or "Capatect SockelFlex Carbon". For this purpose, the insulation material of the horizontal sill cover must be cut to size with a slope of at least 5° or 8%. The component connection to the frame is made with a suitable joint sealing tape.

The base coat of the vertical facade is applied to the horizontal component surface in the joint with the frame. After sufficient drying, a suitable decorative profile is bonded to the vertical facade at the joint to the horizontal surface. The resulting horizontal surface is reinforced up to the front edge of the "Dekor- und Fassadenprofils" with a reinforcement layer of "Capatect SockelFlex" or "Capatect SockelFlex Carbon" plus "Capatect Gewebe 650".

If necessary, the substrate is levelled in advance with an additional filler layer of "Capatect SockelFlex" or "Capatect SockelFlex Carbon".

Subsequently, a full-surface trowel coat of "Capatect SockelFlex" or "Capatect SockelFlex Carbon" is applied on the horizontal surface.

After sufficient drying of the filler layer, apply at least two coats of "Disbon 404".

Application

The Capapor decor and façade profiles mainly consist of mineral based raw materials. For any
coatings etc. it is recomended to orientate by mineral based finishes. Request for further advices in
case of different application.

The feasibility of special designs must be clarified in advance.
The graphically elaborated special profiles must be checked and approved by the customer before acceptance of the order.

Available dimensions:
Lengthmax. 2.250 mm/element
 Overhangmax. 520 mm/element
Thicknessmax. 20 mm

For extended/ special applications please ask for processing recommendations.

Thinner and larger-format "Capatect Capapor Frame, Belt or Cornice Profiles" generally place higher demands on the evenness of the installation surface in order to prevent the risk of breakage and to ensure full-surface installation. To increase the installation safety, site installation tests are recommended in advance.

Weather protection
For "Capatect Capapor Fensterbankprofile" with a overhang > 300 mm, a sheet metal cover is recommended according to the "Fachregeln für Metallarbeiten im Dachdeckerhandwerk".

Horizontally installed facade profiles without additional sheet metal covers have an increased tendency to become soiled.

Cut-outs
Cut-outs from "Capatect Capapor Fensterbankprofile" e.g. for recesses are not possible due to an increased risk of cracking.

Loads
"Capatect Capapor Fensterbankprofil" are designed to take dead loads, wind loads and snow loads.
Additional loads, e.g. from foot traffic on the facade profiles, are not permissible.

Fire behavior
Depending on the area of application and the coating system used, a different fire behavior classification may be possible.
The fire behavior classification given applies only in combination with Caparol Sylitol NQG.

Disposal

Cutting residues must be prepared in accordance with EWC 170904 (mixed construction and demolition waste).
Respect national and regional rules and regulations.

Risk and Transportation Markings

Do not throw; transport on a flat surface; separate several profiles by cardboard
etc. to prevent damage to the coating, protect edges especially.
