Suitable Substrates

Suitable as a finishing render for Histolith® Trass-Sanierputz and Histolith® Trass-Kalkputz as well as for load-bearing mineral substrates inside and outside.
Suitable indoors on gypsum plasters and gypsum boards as well as on sound old coatings and synthetic resin plasters.

Substrate Preparation

The substrate must be load-bearing, level, clean, dry, frost-free and free of adhesion-reducing residues. If necessary, the load-bearing capacity can be ensured by using suitable primers, e.g. Histolith® Sol-Silikat-Fixativ.
Substrates, especially base coats, must be roughened and evenly dried to avoid colour deviations in the finishing render. Before applying Histolith® Feinputz, the hardened base coat must be sufficiently pre-wetted. Pre-wet highly absorbent substrates several times the day before.
We recommend priming with Histolith® KontaktQuarz for better workability before applying the decorative render as well as on gypsum plasters and gypsum boards and on load-bearing old coatings, synthetic resin renders and non-absorbent base coats.

Preparation of Material

■ 25 kg of material (one bag) in approx. 6.5 litres of water.

The material can be mixed with a powerful, slow-running agitator or compulsory mixer with
mixer and with clean, cold water to form a lump-free mass.
Work through again after approx. 3-5 minutes. If necessary, adjust the consistency with a little water after this maturing time.
Depending on the weather, the working time is approx. 1,5 hours (pot life).
Do not use water to make material that has already hardened workable again.

Method of Application

If necessary, apply levelling filler to achieve the required evenness. Apply the material by hand or by machine in a uniform layer thickness of 2-3 mm. During the hardening process, the surface is smoothed or felted with a sponge disc.

Felting with a sponge disc can cause irregular accumulation of binding agents and/or fine particles from the render matrix on the render surface, which can have an adhesion-reducing effect on subsequent coatings.

To achieve a uniform texture, contiguous surfaces should always be executed by the same craftsman to avoid texture deviations due to different "handwriting".

Finish contiguous surfaces without interruption to avoid lapping in the textured layer. Divide large facades into clauses, apply continuously wet-on-wet and texture.
Due to the use of natural fillers and granules, slight colour variations are possible. Therefore, only apply material from the same batch on contiguous surfaces or mix material from different batches beforehand.

Surface Coating System

Coating is required for exterior areas. Coating only with highly water vapour permeable paints, Histolith® Dispersionssilikatfarben and Histolith® Kalkfarben are recommended. Additional pre-treatment with Histolith® Fluat reduces the risk of lime efflorescence.

To ensure sufficient adhesion, a primer corresponding to the planned coating system is recommended before applying subsequent coatings.

The risk of infestation by microorganisms can be significantly reduced by applying a facade paint with film protection.

Special measures must be taken on solid walls with HBW < 30, e.g. an additional reinforced base coat with an entire surface mesh insert on the lightweight base coat and/or a solar-reflective façade paint.

Consumption

■ approx. 1.5 kg/m2 per mm layer thickness

These consumption figures are approximate values.
Deviations depending on the property or processing must be taken into account.

Application Conditions

During the application and curing phase, the ambient and substrate temperatures must not be
substrate temperatures must not be below +5 °C and above +30 °C. Do not apply under direct
Do not apply in direct sunlight, strong wind, fog or high humidity.
Please refer to the leaflet "Rendering, thermal insulation, levelling, coating at high and low
temperatures" from the the Bundesverband Ausbau und Fassade.

In unfavourable weather conditions, suitable measures must be taken to protect the facade surfaces.

Drying/Drying Time

Primer and intermediate coats must be dry before further reworking.
The waiting time for reworking depends on temperature, humidity, air movement, solar radiation and the application thickness. The information provided is therefore for guidance only.
■ Surface dry after approx. 24 hours

Waiting time for coating systems:

■ At least 14 days

Coat the plaster surface with Histolith® Fluat beforehand and rinse. During the drying time, the treated surfaces must be protected from drying out too quickly.

Tool Cleaning

Rinse with water immediately after use in accordance with legal requirements.

Example for Machine Equipment

■ Continuous mixer e.g. inoMIX F51 or m-tec D10
■ Mixing pump e.g. InoCOMB Maxi power or PFT G4

Delivery hoses:
Start hoses - inner Ø 35 mm; end hose - inner Ø 25 mm

Delivery distances/height:
Maximum delivery distance 30 m; maximum delivery height 20 m
(depending on temperature)

Spraying unit:
Nozzle-Ø 8 - 12 mm

Pre-flush delivery hoses with lime slurry or paste before regular operation.

If work is interrupted, do not leave the delivery hose in direct sunlight, coverthe material container with foil, for example, and keep the gun and nozzle under water. Stand for max. 30 min. until further processing, otherwise the material in the hose may harden.

Before a work break, the material container in the feed pump of the "open system" (continuous mixer + feed pump) must be emptied as far as possible to prevent material tunnelling when restarting. If this is not observed, the material may have to be made "passable" before the machine is started up (with the machine switched off).

The machine manufacturer's instructions must be observed.

Special Risks (Hazard Note) / Safety Advice (Status as at Date of Publication)

Causes skin irritation. Causes serious eye damage. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Keep out of reach of children. Do not breathe dusts or mists. Wash skin thoroughly after handling. Wear protective gloves/ eye protection. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Immediately call a POISON CENTER/ doctor. Contains: calcium dihydroxide, Cement, portland, chemicals. Aqueous cement suspensions have an alkaline effect.

Disposal

Can be landfilled after concentration, when in compliance with local regulations.
