Suitable Substrates

Load-bearing mineral renders, cracked render surfaces, load-bearing old coats of paint.

Substrate Preparation

Mask window sills and add-on parts.
Carefully cover glass, ceramic, clinker, natural stone, painted, glazed and anodised surfaces.

The substrate must be stable, even, clean, dry, frost-free and free of adhesion-reducing residues. If necessary, the load-bearing capacity can be ensured by using suitable primers.
Substrates, especially base coats, must be evenly dried to avoid colour deviations in the finishing render.

Load-bearing, mineral renders:
Clean the surface well. Remove layers with low strength.
Prime surface-sanding renders with Histolith® Sol-Silikat-Fixativ.

Cracked plaster surfaces:
Only render surfaces with dormant render cracks are suitable.
Plaster surfaces with active movement cracks are not suitable.
If necessary, knock off hollow areas, fill damaged areas with Histolith® Renovierspachtel, for deeper cracks (> 20 mm) with Histolith® Trass-Porengrundputz.

Load-bearing old coats:
Clean the surface well. Apply a primer coat with Histolith® KontaktQuarz.

VOB Part C, DIN 18350 must be observed.

Preparation of Material

25 kg of material (one bag) in approx. 5-6 litres of water

The material can be mixed to a lump-free mass using a powerful, slow-running agitator or compulsory mixer and clean, cold water.
Work through again after approx. 3-5 minutes. If necessary, adjust the consistency with a little water after this maturing time.
Depending on the weather, the working time is approx. 1.5 hours (pot life).
Do not use water to make material that has already hardened workable again.

Method of Application

Apply with a stainless steel trowel or a suitable plastering machine.

Mesh embedding: Apply Histolith® Renovierspachtel to a thickness of approx. 4 mm. Lay Capatect Gewebe 650 10 cm overlapping and press down firmly.

If necessary, apply levelling filler to achieve the required evenness.

Finishing render: Apply material in a uniform layer thickness of approx. 3 mm. During the setting process, the surface is smoothed or felted with a sponge disc.

Felting the material with a sponge disc can cause irregular accumulation of binding agents and/or fine particles from the plaster matrix on the plaster surface, which can have an adhesion-reducing effect on subsequent coatings. To ensure sufficient adhesion, a primer corresponding to the planned coating system is recommended before applying subsequent coatings.

To achieve a uniform texture, contiguous surfaces should always be carried out by the same craftsman.
Complete contiguous surfaces without interruption to avoid lapping in the textured layer.
finish without interruption. Divide large facades into clauses, apply and texture continuously wet-on-wet.
Due to the use of natural fillers and granules, slight colour variations are possible. Therefore, only apply material from the same batch on contiguous surfaces or mix material from different batches beforehand.

Surface Coating System

The felted surface must then be coated with at least 2 coats of a suitable, water vapour permeable facade paint once it is completely dry. Histolith® silicate paints and lime paints are recommended.

The risk of infestation by microorganisms can be significantly reduced by applying a facade paint with film protection.
Special measures must be taken on solid walls with an HBW < 30, e.g. an additional reinforced base coat with a full-surface mesh insert on the lightweight base coat and/or a solar-reflective façade paint.

Consumption

  • approx. 1.4 kg/m2 per mm layer thickness.

These consumption figures are approximate values.
Deviations depending on the object or processing conditions must be taken into account.

Layer thickness: 2-3 mm as finishing render

Application Conditions

During the application and curing phase, the ambient and substrate temperatures must not be below +5°C and above +30°C. Do not apply under direct Do not apply in direct sunlight, strong wind, fog or high humidity.
Please refer to the leaflet "Verputzen, Wärmedämmen, Spachteln, Beschichten bei hohen und niedrigen Temperaturen" from the Bundesverband Ausbau und Fassade.
In unfavourable weather conditions, suitable measures must be taken to protect the facade surfaces.

Drying/Drying Time

Primer and intermediate coats must be dry before further application.
The waiting time for recoating depends on temperature, air humidity, air movement, sunlight and application thickness. The information is therefore intended as a guide.

Waiting time for coating systems

Guideline value 1 day per millimetre of application thickness, but at least 7 days
Additional pre-treatment with Histolith® Fluat reduces the risk of lime efflorescence.
During the drying time, the treated surfaces must be protected against rapid drying out.

Tool Cleaning

Rinse with water immediately after use, observing the legal requirements.

Note

Example of machine equipment

  • Continuous mixer e.g. inoMIX F51 or m-tec D10
  • Mixing pump e.g. InoCOMB Maxi power or PFT G4

Delivery hoses:
Start hoses - inner Ø 35 mm; end hose - inner Ø 25 mm
Conveying distances/height:
Maximum conveying distance 30 m; maximum conveying height 20 m
(depending on temperature)
Spraying unit:
Nozzle-Ø 8 - 12 mm

Pre-flush delivery hoses with lime slurry or paste before regular operation.
During work interruptions, do not leave the delivery hose in direct sunlight,
Cover the material container with foil, for example, and keep the gun and nozzle under water. Service life
max. 30 min. before further processing, otherwise the material in the hose may harden.
Before taking a break from work, the material container in the feed pump in the "open system"
(continuous mixer + feed pump) must be emptied as far as possible to prevent material tunnelling when starting up again.
when starting up again. If this is not observed, the material may have to be emptied before
the machine (with the machine switched off).
The specifications of the machine manufacturer must be observed.
