CapaGrund Universal-W
White, highly water vapour permeable special primer. Primer coat with hiding power used before applying dispersion, silicone resin and dispersion silicate paints on mineral surfaces as well as organic render and external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS).
Field of Application
Primer coat with hiding power used before applying dispersion, silicone resin and dispersion silicate paints on mineral surfaces as well as pasty render and external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS). Can also be used as a primer for solvent-containing polymer resin paints.
"CapaGrund Universal-W" reduces the risk of lime efflorescence on alkaline finishing coats of render groups P Ic, P II or P III as well as on concrete. "CapaGrund Universal-W" is equipped with a preservative to protect the coating against infestation and damage by fungi and algae.

"CapaGrund Universal-W" can be toned by machine in the "ColorExpress" system according to all common colour collections in light shades down to approx. lightness index (LI) 70. More intensive colour shades are produced approximately from the white goods and are suitable as a primer coating for the respective brilliant, intensive colour shades of the desired finishing coat.

Suitable Substrates
The substrates must be free from soiling, separating substances and dry. In Germany observe VOB, Part C, DIN 18363, Para. 3. Please refer to our Technical Information No. 650 "Substrates and their pre-treatment" ("Untergründe und deren Vorbehandlung") regarding suitability for various substrates and their necessary pre-treatment.
Method of Application
"CapaGrund Universal-W" can be rolled, brushed and sprayed (exterior application only).
Nespri spray application:
Spray application with Nespri nozzles for facade coating (spraying & re-rolling):
"20° Doppeldüse 215" (for trimming work)
"30° Doppeldüse 317" (for smooth substrates)
"30° Doppeldüse 319" (for rough substrates)
Material temperature is controlled automatically.
The spray pressure (opened spray gun) on the Nespri airless device is in the green marked area of the pressure gauge.
With the "NespriKIT" hose reel, this must be set on your own responsibility on the respective airless device.
Thinning
Exclusively dilute with max. 3% water.
Surface Coating System
Especially suitable as a hiding primer coat before subsequent dispersion, silicone resin and dispersion silicate paints and solvent-based polymer resin paints.
Consumption
Depending on absorbency and condition of the substrate approx. 150-200 ml/m2. Determine exact consumption and degree of dilution by trial coating.
Application Conditions
Material, ambient air and substrate temperature: min. + 5 °C to max. + 30 °C.
Drying/Drying Time
At +20 °C and 65 % relative humidity, recoatable after approx. 12 hours. At lower temperatures, allow for correspondingly longer drying times.
Tool Cleaning
Wash out tools and equipments with water after use.
Note
"CapaGrund Universal-W" is not suitable for horizontal surfaces exposed to water.It is a product with special active agents against fungal and algal growth on the coating. This depot of active substances provides a long-lasting, time-limited protection, the duration of effectiveness depends on the object conditions, such as the severity of the infestation and the moisture load. Therefore, a permanent prevention of fungal and algal growth is not possible. After cleaning, "FungiGrund" may be used instead of "OptiGrund E.L.F." for the pre-treatment of surfaces affected by algae and fungi.
"CapaGrund Universal-W" may only be used for exterior applications.
Compatibility:
To maintain the special properties, tone only with "CaparolColor" or "AmphiColor®" full tone and tinting colors or via "ColorExpress". Do not add any other materials.

Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Keep out of reach of children. Read carefully and follow all instructions. Avoid release to the environment. Contains 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one, octhilinone (ISO), reaction mass of 5-chloro-2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one and 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one (3:1). May produce an allergic reaction. Warning! Hazardous respirable droplets may be formed when sprayed. Do not breathe spray or mist. According to European Regulation 528/2012 this product is defined as a "treated article” (not a biocidal product) and contains the following biocidal substances: terbutryn (CAS-No. 886-50-0), octhilinone (ISO) (CAS-No. 26530-20-1).
Disposal
Only recycle empty packaging. Materials and all related packaging must be disposed of in a safe way in accordance with the full requirements of the local, regional, national and international authorities..
