Dachshund knowledge

From the hunter to the sausage to the lion

Yes, they have short legs and some unlovingly call them 'foot horns'. But the quite clever little animal does not deserve that its name is used as a swearword, as is customary in Swabia. There are pretty good reasons why Waldi (the name of the dachshund mascot of the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich) is the perfect companion for humans. It stands as a synonym for loyalty, self-confident, stubborn and tough. It's better than any alarm system.

It is small, but has tremendous courage. It is not for nothing that people say: "When the dachshund looks into a mirror, it sees a lion." And it's versatile. Speaking of which, did you know that in the US, people celebrate the Dress-your-pet Day in January? Crazy, isn't it? Well, the dachshund is 'in vogue'.
