Capadecor Metallocryl Interior is a glossy emulsion paint with special metallic pigments for use on interior wall surfaces. Particularly suitable for application on representative wall surfaces, e.g. shopping centres, office buildings, banks, insurance companies, railway stations, discotheques, etc.Material Properties

Capadecor Metallocryl Interior can be machine-tinted via ColorExpress in a wide range of colour options: metallic effect colours according to RAL, 3D plus colours and previous Alucryl colours.
If the material is to be tinted to a colour other than the standard shade, this tinting must be carried out in accordance with the ColorExpress ‘CD-Metallocryl’ collection, as otherwise colour deviations may occur. The same applies to the intermediate coat with Amphibolin in the specified shade.
The colour ranges for Capadecor Metallocryl Interior have been developed based on the 3D plus system, but differ from the original colours due to their metallic character. A precise match between 3D plus colours and Metallocryl Interior colours cannot be guaranteed.
The metallic effect of the colours may vary depending on the viewer’s angle of view, as well as the type, intensity and angle of incidence of the light. For this reason, we recommend creating test areas on site. In addition to this overview, various commercially available metallic effect colours, such as RAL, as well as the existing Alucryl shades, are available.

Suitable Substrates
The substrate must be sound/stable, dry, clean, and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion. Follow VOB, part C, DIN 18363, section 3.Substrate Preparation

Stir Capadecor Metallocryl Interior thoroughly before application. Repeat this stirring process regularly during application.
Capadecor Metallocryl Interior can be applied with a brush or roller. Edges must always be rolled over. For roller application, use medium-pile rollers (pile height 12–16 mm) that do not tend to accumulate material at the edges.
To ensure the aluminium mica is evenly distributed, Capadecor Metallocryl Interior must be applied evenly, spread crosswise and rolled in one direction.
A uniform metallic finish without tool marks cannot be achieved by hand with Metallocryl Interior on smooth or unstructured surfaces.
On smooth substrates, Capadecor Metallocryl Interior must always be finished after roller application using an oval brush in a criss-cross motion, a trowel such as the ArteTwin, or other texturing tools.
Spray application of Metallocryl Interior is not recommended due to heavy mist formation and an uneven gloss level caused by spray mist.
Capadecor Metallocryl Interior can be used on textured surfaces with a grain size of approx. 2 mm or greater without the need for additional finishing with a brush or trowel.
Additional attractive effects can be achieved when Capadecor Metallocryl Interior is used as an intermediate coat beneath Capadecor ArteLasur.
Surface Coating System
Intermediate coat:
Capadecor Metallocryl Interior contains effect pigments which react to alkaline and acidic influences, particularly when combined with high levels of moisture, by discolouring. For this reason, it is necessary to apply an additional barrier coat of Disbon 481 EP-Uniprimer on alkaline, non-absorbent substrates (observe Technical Information No. 481).
Opaque intermediate coat with Amphibolin (observe Technical Information No. 100).
The intermediate coat must be colour-matched to the subsequent Capadecor Metallocryl Interior finish. Amphibolin is tinted using ColorExpress tinting machines from the CD Metallocryl collection.
Other products are not suitable for use as an intermediate coat.
Top coat:
2 top coats of Capadecor Metallocryl Interior, applied undiluted (max. 5%).
Apply Metallocryl generously with a short-pile roller and spread it crosswise. The surfaces must then be rolled over in one direction with the roller without any product. It is essential to roll over cut-out areas. Always apply Metallocryl wet-on-wet.
Consumption
Approx. 100 ml/m2 per coat on textured substrates. On rough-textured surfaces correspondingly more. The exact consumption is best established by a trial coating (test area) on site.Application Conditions
Lower Temperature Limit for Application and Drying:+5 °C for product, substrate and ambient air.
Drying/Drying Time
At +20 °C and 65 % relative humidity surface-dry and recoatable after 4 - 6 hours.Lower temperatures and higher relative humidity extend the drying time.
Tool Cleaning
Clean tools immediately after use with water.Note
Capadecor Metallocryl Interior is not suitable for horizontal surfaces exposed to water.
To preserve the special properties of this product, it must not be mixed with other materials.
Apply wet-on-wet to avoid streaks.
