Suitable Substrates
Follow the corresponding Technical Information of the above mentioned applicable supplementary products.Substrate Preparation
Follow the corresponding Technical Information of the above mentioned suitable supplementary products. Please Note: Wall glazes are semi-transparent/translucent products, hence colour and texture of the substrate will remain slightly noticeable after drying. Therefore carry out site trials, on each type of surface to be treated, and make available for inspection and approval by the customer, prior to beginning full scale operations.
Preparation of Material
Advice: The desired amount/quantity to be added should first be prepared to paste with little water, and agitated for minimum 2 minutes (free from lumps). The amount of tap water must not exceed the triple fold of effect pigments. E.g.: Prepare 50 g of effect pigments using max. 150 ml of tap (potable) water.Method of Application
Please follow the corresponding Technical Information for applying semi-transparent/translucent glaze (scumbling) coats. Please Note:
1. A highly transparent glaze (with a small amount of tinting paste added) is able to bring out the effect of utilised effect pigments.
2. Darker surfaces provide for a more noticeable colourfulness and lustrous/nacreous appearance of effect pigments.
3. The change of colours, as is typical for Switch pigments, is highly enhanced/intensified on smooth substrates.
Colour Shade References for Visualizing Impression and Intensity of Effects:
The visual appearance of different types of effect pigments is depending on the substrate colour. The below mentioned neutral range of brightening shades serves as an example to visualize this effect.

Consumption
Normally the use of 3 % to 5 % of effect pigments is advisable, but gold-coloured pigments of
Perlatec Gold are dominant in terms of colour, hence the added amount should be limited to approx. 1 % to 2 %.
A trial application on site, correction (if necessary) and approval by the final customer is essential for all types of substrates.
