Indeko-plus

A class of its own, extremely yielding and economic.
Emission-minimised, unplasticized and solvent-free.
  • LV Texte
  • Field of Application

Top-quality coating for all internal walls and ceilings. Indeko-plus has double covering power, hence in most cases one evenly applied coat is sufficient. The product dries very fast without emitting any offensive odour and is therefore particularly suitable when time is pressing and occupants or users are not to be incommoded by the smell of fresh paint, e.g. painting or redecoration in hospitals, nursing homes, warehouses, hotels, restaurants, offices, schools, playschools, surgeries, public buildings and private living quarters.

    Material Properties

    • Water-thinnable, ecologically compatible, low odour.
    • Free of fogging-active substances.
    • Easy to touch up.
    • Double covering power.
    • High degree of whiteness.
    • Slightly filling, non-yellowing.
    • Diffusion-capable, sd-value < 0.1 m

    Material Base / Vehicle

Synthetic resin dispersion/emulsion according to German standard DIN 55945.

    Packaging/Package Size

    • Standard Product: 2.5 l, 5 l, 10 l and 12.5 litres
    • ColorExpress: 1.25 l, 2.5 l, 5 l, 7.5 l and 12.5 litres

    Colours

White. Indeko-plus is tintable with CaparolColor or AmphiColor® colourants. If more than one bucket is manually tinted, all product must be thoroughly mixed before use in order to avoid colour differences.
Quantities of 100 litres or more in individual colour shades may be ordered ready tinted ex factory.
Indeko-plus (Base 1-3) can be tinted via the ColorExpress tinting & mixing machine system according to all current colour collections. Check tinted product before applying in order to avoid colour differences.
Always use tinted paint of same batch, when applying on seamless surfaces.
When colour shades with a lower opacity (hiding/covering power) are used, e.g. red, orange or yellow, it is advisable to apply a first (priming) coat of Indeko-plus or Caparol-Haftgrund, tinted in a matching priming system colour, available via ColorExpress. Possibly a second finishing coat may be necessary.

    Substrate Preparation

Renders/Plasters in Mortar Groups/Classes PII (Lime-Cement Mortars) and PIII (Cement Mortars) / Minimum Compressive Strength according to DIN EN 998-1 : 2 N/mm2: Solid renders/plasters with normal absorbency require no preliminary treatment. Prime highly porous, sanding or absorbent renders/plasters with OptiGrund E.L.F. or CapaSol LF.

Gypsum Mortar and Ready-Mixed Gypsum Plasters of Mortar Group/Class PIV / Minimum Compressive Strength according to DIN EN 13279: 2 N/mm2: Apply one priming coat of Caparol-Haftgrund. Sand sintered surfaces, remove sanding dust and apply one priming coat of Caparol-Tiefgrund TB.

Gypsum Wallboards: Prime absorbent boards with OptiGrund E.L.F. or Caparol-Tiefgrund TB.
Prime highly compacted, smooth/even boards with Caparol-Haftgrund to improve bonding.

Gypsum Plaster Boards (Sandwich Type Plaster Boards / Am.: Drywalls): Sand off any burrs. Soft gypsum areas (repair patches) must be primed and strengthened with Caparol-Tiefgrund TB. Apply one priming coat of Caparol-Haftgrund, OptiGrund E.L.F. or CapaSol LF.
Boards containing water-soluble substances that leave marks must be primed with Caparol AquaSperrgrund. In Germany: Follow BFS Data Sheet No. 12.

Concrete: Remove all residues of releasing agents and chalking or sanding substances.

Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) / Cellular Concrete: Prime with a 1 : 3 mixture of Capaplex and tap (potable) water.

Fair-Faced Brick and Sand-Lime Brick Masonry: No preliminary treatment required.

Sound/Stable Existing Coatings: Treat matt, slightly absorbent coatings without a preliminary preparation. Roughen/sand glossy surfaces and enamel coatings. Apply one priming coat of Caparol-Haftgrund.

Unstable Existing Coatings: Remove unstable enamels and emulsion/dispersion/latex paints or synthetic resin-bound (organic) renders/plasters. Prime slightly absorbent, even surfaces with Caparol-Haftgrund. Prime highly porous, sanding or absorbent substrates with OptiGrund E.L.F. or CapaSol LF. Remove unstable coats of mineral paint by mechanical means and remove all dust. Prime with Caparol-Tiefgrund TB.

Coats of Glue-Bound Distemper (Limewater Colour/Paint): Wash off the existing distemper very thoroughly, allow to fully dry and prime with Caparol-Tiefgrund TB.

Unpainted Woodchip/Ingrain, Textured or Embossed Wallpapers (made of Paper): Coat without any preliminary treatment.

Non-Adherent Wallpapers: Remove completely and wash off all residues of wallpaper paste/glue and waste paper. Prime the substrate with Caparol-Tiefgrund TB.

Mildewed Surfaces: Remove fungal attack (fungi/mildew/mould) by wet cleaning, then use Capatox or FungiGrund and allow to dry thoroughly. Prime according to the type and condition of the substrate. Apply a finishing coat of Indeko-W, Malerit-W or Fungitex-W on badly infested surfaces in compliance with legal and official regulations (follow e.g. Ordinance on Biological Agents and Ordinance on Hazardous Substances).

Surfaces Stained by Nicotine, Water, Soot or Fat/Grease: Remove nicotine, soot or fat/grease stains by washing with tap water adding a fat-dissolving household detergent, then allow the substrate to dry thoroughly. Clean dried-up water stains by dry brushing. Apply an insulating coat of Caparol AquaSperrgrund. Apply one finishing coat of Aqua-inn Nº 1 on highly soiled surfaces.

Wood and Derived Timber Products: Coat with water-dilutable, ecologically compatible Capacryl acrylic enamels or Capacryl PU enamels.

Small Defects: After having completed the necessary preparations, repair small defects with Caparol-Akkordspachtel in accordance with our application instructions, and if necessary, prime subsequently.

    Method of Application

Applicable with paint brush, paint roller or airless spray equipment.
    Airless application: Spray angle: 50°; Nozzle size: 0.018" to 0.021";
Optimal spray pressure: 150 to 180 bar. Stir well and sieve the paint before application. Clean tools/equipment immediately after use with water.

    Surface Coating System

One evenly and generously applied coat of Indeko-plus, undiluted or diluted up to a max. of 5 % with tap (potable) water. High-contrast surfaces require a preliminary first coat of Indeko-plus, diluted up to a max. of 10 % with tap water. Prime unevenly absorbent substrates with Caparol-Haftgrund.

    Consumption

Approx. 125 ml/m2 per coat on an even substrate. On rough-textured surfaces correspondingly more. The exact consumption is best established by a trial coating (test area) on site.

    Application Conditions

Lower Temperature Limit for Application and Drying: +5 °C for product, substrate and ambient air.

    Drying/Drying Time

At +20 °C and 65 % relative humidity surface-dry and recoatable after 4 - 6 hours. Completely dry and ready for stress (loadable) after approx. 3 days. Lower temperatures and higher humidity extend the drying time.

    Note

To avoid lapping, the product should be applied wet-on-wet and without interruption.
Due to the use of Caparol-Tiefgrund TB in the interiors, a typical solvent odour is released, hence proper ventilation must be provided during application and drying.
    Use non-aromatic, low-odour AmphiSilan-Putzfestiger in sensitive areas.
Mechanical stress (scratching) on surfaces in dark shades may produce noticeable bright-toned stripes. For intensively coloured coatings on surfaces subjected to mechanical loads we recommend the application of an additional protective coat of PremiumColor, tinted to match the Indeko-plus coat in shade. Follow Technical Information PremiumColor.
Touching up surfaces is depending on many parameters and noticeable marks of repared areas cannot be avoided. (In Germany: See BFS Data Sheet No. 25)

    German Certificates

The Fraunhofer Wilhelm-Klauditz-Institute (WKI) has audited the inoffensive application for interior use. The product is certified with German TÜV quality mark "pollutant-tested / supervised manufacturing process". German certificate is available on request.

Please Note (Status as at Date of Publication)

Keep out of reach from children. Use P2 dust filter for grinding. Ensure good ventilation during use and drying. Do not eat, drink or smoke while using the paint. In case of contact with eyes or skin, immediately and thoroughly rinse with water. Do not allow product to enter drains, waterways or soil. Clean utensils immediately after use with soap and water. Do not inhale spray dust. Use dust collector A2/P2. Further information: See Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

    Disposal

Materials and all related packaging must be disposed of in a safe way in accordance with the full requirements of the local authorities. Particular attention should be made to removing wastage from site in compliance with standard construction site procedures.
In Germany: Only completely emptied containers should be given for recycling. Dispose containers with residues of liquid product via waste collection point accepting old paints and enamels. Dispose dried/hardened product residues as construction site/demolition/municipal or domestic waste.
