CapaSol Konzentrat

Water-thinnable, highly concentrated, unpigmented
special primer. For exterior and interior use.
  • LV Texte

    Field of Application

Special primer for use on solid, porous substrates which absorb strongly or unevenly in order to level their absorbency.
Particularly suitable for treating porous, absorbent substrates such as renders/plasters, unfired bricks, cellular concrete/AAC (autoclaved aerated concrete), natural stones and gypsum plasterboards (drywalls), concrete, lightweight concrete, cement-based Disbocret mortars and fillers/surfacers, cement floor and anhydrite screed.
Prime compact, smooth/even surfaces with Tiefgrund TB or Haftgrund.

German product name: CapaSol Konzentrat (Brit./Am. term = Concentrate)

    Material Properties

    • Water-dilutable.
    • Highly concentrated.
    • Solvent-free, low odour.
    • Excellent spreading rate.

    Suitable Substrates

The substrates must be solid/stable, dry, clean, and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion. In Germany: Follow VOB, part C, DIN 18363, section 3.

    Substrate Preparation

Follow Technical Information No. 650 for suitability of the product on different substrates and their required pre-treatment.

    Thinning

Thin/dilute only with tap (potable) water.

    Surface Coating System

On normally absorbent substrates apply CapaSol Concentrate, diluted 1:3 to 1:4 with tap (potable) water. On strongly/highly absorbent substrates apply CapaSol Concentrate, diluted with tap water 1:4 to 1:5, if necessary in wet-on-wet method to the saturation point. In most cases one priming coat will be enough.
Dilute with 2 parts of tap water for priming concrete, lightweight concrete, cement-containing Disbocret mortars and fillers/surfacers, cement floor and anhydrite screeds. The primer must not form a closed, shiny film.

    Consumption

Approx. 50 - 200 ml/m2 depending on absorbency and condition of the substrate.
Determine the exact thinning rate and amount of material required by coating a test area on site.

    Application Conditions

Lower Temperature Limit for Application and Drying:
+5 °C for product, substrate and ambient air.

    Drying/Drying Time

At +20 °C and 65 % relative humidity: recoatable after approx. 12 hours.
Lower temperatures extend the drying time.

    Tools

Apply liberally/thoroughly and work in well with a surface brush or whitewash brush to achieve the best possible consolidation. Roller or high-pressure spray application are less suitable, but the product is applicable with airless spraying equipment.

    Airless Application:
    Spray angle: 60°
    Nozzle size: 0.029"
    Spraying pressure: 50 bar.

Clean tools/equipment immediately after use with water.

    Note

Do not apply on horizontal surfaces exposed to rain or moisture.
