Field of Application
Effect glaze (wood stain) showing a metallic gloss. Suitable for high-grade and restrained covering of wood surfaces. Applicable in interiors and exteriors on dimensionally stable wooden parts, e.g. windows and doors, on components with limited dimensional stability, such as panelling with tongue and groove, or on dimensionally unstable wood, e.g. on facades.Do not use for wood with permanent contact to the ground (soil) or water/moisture.
Material Properties
- Noble effect due to aluminium bronze pigments.
- Excellent UV protection due to reflective pigments.
- High moisture proofing of dimensionally stable wooden parts.
- Highly diffusion-capable.
- Thin-bodied (low film-building) wood stain, easy to renovate.
- Water-dilutable.
- Non-blocking.
- In conformity with VOC regulations (2010).
- Non-dripping viscosity.

Suitable Substrates
Wooden parts in interiors. Dimensionally stable or limited dimensionally stable wood and dimensionally unstable wooden parts in exteriors.
The substrate must be clean, sound/stable, and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion. Maximum permissible moisture content in dimensionally stable wood: 13 % and in limited dimensionally stable or unstable wood: 15 %. Follow the principles of constructional wood preservation. They are the basis for a durable wood preservation with coating materials.
Follow BFS Data Sheet No. 18 section 2.2.3. for applying the product on panel-shaped derived timber products, e.g. solid wood, veneer layered plywood, particle boards or wood fibreboards.
Advice for the upkeep of coated wooden parts:
A long-term maintenance of value can only be obtained by professional upkeep at regular intervals.
In Germany: Follow the advice given in BFS Data Sheet No. 18, affix C.
Substrate Preparation
New Wood Surfaces:
Sand even, planed surfaces in fibre direction, clean well and and remove seeping wood contents, e.g. wood resin/rosin. Impregnate exterior surfaces with Capacryl Holzschutz-Grund.
Existing Wood (Exteriors):
Sand (abrade/grind off) greyed, weathered surfaces to the stable, solid substrate and clean the surface. Impregnate with Capacryl Holzschutz-Grund.
Coated Wood:
Remove unstable existing coatings completely to the stable substrate. Impregnate the surface with Capacryl Holzschutzgrund. Clean stable, adherent coatings. Wash algal & fungal attack (fungi/mildew/mould) completely off and disinfect the surface with Capatox. Apply one covering priming coat of Capacryl Haftprimer in suitable colour shade for renovation (Caparol 3D/Palazzo 205). Then apply two or three coats of Capadur SilverStyle in the desired colour (wood grain technique).
Preparation of Material
Capadur SilverStyle is ready-to-use, but should be stirred before applying.Brush application: Use special brushes for applying acrylic enamels (mixture of polyester and natural bristles, e.g. Orelmix).
Roller application: Use short pile polyamide roller and then refinish with a brush.

Consumption
70 - 100 ml/m2 per coat. Apply a total of min. 200 ml/m2 on exterior surfaces. Consumption is influenced by the substrate condition, e.g. roughness or absorbency. Determine the exact amount of material required by coating a test area on site.Application Conditions
Lower Temperature Limit for Application and Drying:+ 8 °C for product, substrate and ambient air.
Drying/Drying Time
At 20 °C and 65 % relative humidity touch dry (dry to handle) after 2 hours. Apply the following coat after 4 hours, at the earliest. The drying time is extended at lower temperatures and higher humidity or in case of insufficient air exchange, e.g. when boards are packed closely.Tool Cleaning
Immediately after use with water. Please Note (Status as at Date of Publication)
Keep out of reach of children. Ensure good ventilation during use and drying. Do not eat, drink or smoke while using the product. In case of contact with eyes or skin, immediately and thoroughly rinse with water. Do not empty into drains, water courses or into the ground. Clean utensils immediately after use with soap and water. Use P2 dust filter for grinding. Do not breathe paint spray. Use A2/P2 combination filter for paint spraying.Further information: See Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

Disposal
Materials and all related packaging must be disposed of in a safe way in accordance with the full requirements of the local authorities. Particular attention should be made to removing wastage from site in compliance with standard construction site procedures. In Germany: Only completely empty cans/containers must be handed in for recycling. Dispose containers with residues of liquid product via waste collection point accepting old paints and enamels. Dispose dried/hardened product residues as construction site/demolition/municipal or domestic waste.
