Suitable Substrates
Primed, dimensionally stable wood component parts, primed metals and unplasticized/rigid PVC.The substrate must be clean, sound/stable, dry and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion. Maximum permissible moisture content in dimensionally stable wood (WMC): 13 %.
Substrate Preparation
Roughening and cleaning the primered surface.Method of Application
Capacryl PU-Satin NAST has been developed for use with the below mentioned special equipment to ensure a nearly mist-free spray application. The product cannot be applied via paint brush or roller.Capacryl PU-Satin NAST is adjusted for use with the mentioned spray equipment and Caparol NAST-Frontend/Capacryl NAST HVLP Spray. Only this combination of material and equipment enable a nearly mist-free spray application.
Guidelines for Spray Application:
Suitable Spray Equipment | Nozzle/Frontend | Adjustment Quantity of Material | Adjustment Quantity of Air | Dilution |
Wagner XVLP FinishControl 3500/5000/5500 | Caparol NAST | 8 - 10 | 2/3 or 7- 8 | undiluted |
Titan Focus 700 | Caparol NAST | 8 - 9 | 2/3 or 7- 8 | undiluted |
Graco Capacryl NAST HVLP Spray | Edge 2 NAST | 6 - 7 | max. | undiluted |
Spray Technique:
Adjustment for coating surfaces: "Flachstrahl" (flat jet). Spray slowly lengthwise with an overlap of min. 50 % and in a spray distance of 15 cm, applying wet-on-wet.
Do not apply cross-coats!
Allow to dry and apply a second coat in the same manner, if necessary.

1) Always apply Capacryl Holz-IsoGrund on wood containing water-soluble, discolouring substances (2x on knots). 2) Colour shades of low opacity (e.g. yellow/red/orange pigmented) may require an additional coat.Note: Adhesion must always be tested in advance for powder coatings, coil coatings and other critical substrates by trials (coating a test area on site). |
Consumption
Approx. 120 - 160 ml/m2 per coat.Consumption is a guide value and may vary, depending on substrate requirements. Determine the exact amount of material required by coating a test area on site.
Application Conditions
Low Temperature Limit for Application and Drying:Min. 8 °C for product, substrate and ambient air.
Relative humidity must not exceed 70 %.
Drying/Drying Time
At 20 °C and 65 % relative humidity (RH) | dust dry | recoatable (spray application) | completely dry |

Tool Cleaning
Clean tool after use with water and wetting agent, e.g. Gescha Multi-Star. It is recommended the wearing of nitrile gloves.Special Risks (Hazard Note) / Safety Advice (Status as at Date of Publication)
Contains 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one, reaction mass of 5-chloro-2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one and 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one (3:1). May produce an allergic reaction. Warning! Hazardous respirable droplets may be formed when sprayed. Do not breathe spray or mist. Keep out of reach of children. For spraying work, use combination filter A2/P2 and protective goggles. Use dust filter P2 for grinding work. Ensure thorough ventilation during application and drying. Avoid eating, drinking and smoking while using the paint. In case of contact with eyes or skin, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Do not allow to enter drains, waterways or soil. Clean tools immediately after use with soap and water.Disposal
