    Suitable Substrates

Wood, derived timber products, zinc/galvanised substrates, aluminium, copper, unplasticized (rigid) PVC, stable existing coatings. Also suitable on coated metal rails of acoustic ceilings (grid ceilings). Do not apply on anodised aluminium.
The substrate must be clean, sound/stable, dry, and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion.
Maximum permissible moisture content (WMC) in dimensionally stable wood: 13 %, in limited dimensionally stable wood and wooden parts of unstable shape: 15 %.

    Substrate Preparation

    Wooden Parts:
Sand the surface in fibre direction, clean thoroughly, remove all seeping wood contents, e.g. resins and resin galls and cut sharp edges (see BFS Data Sheet No. 18).

    Zinc, Unplasticized/Rigid PVC:
Wash with light ammonia solution using a sanding pad as per BFS Data Sheets Nos. 5 and 22.

    Aluminium, Copper:
Clean with destined detergents, e.g. Gescha Multi-Star, then sand with a plastic abrasive fleece (see BFS Data Sheet No. 6).

    Existing Paint Coatings:
Sand the surface and/or treat with alkaline solution. Remove unstable existing coatings.

Coated metal rails of grid ceilings:
Clean with destined detergents, e.g. Gescha Multi-Star.

    Method of Application

Capacryl Haftprimer NAST has been developed for use with the below mentioned special equipment to ensure a nearly mist-free spray application. The product cannot be applied via paint brush or roller.

    Please note:
Capacryl Haftprimer NAST is adjusted for use with the mentioned spray equipment and special nozzle Caparol NAST-Frontend. Only this combination of material and equipment enable a nearly mist-free spray application.

    Spray Technique:
Adjustment for coating surfaces: "Flachstrahl" (flat jet). Spray slowly lengthwise with an overlap of min. 50 % and in a spray distance of 15 cm, applying wet-on-wet.
    Do not apply cross-coats!
Allow to dry and apply a second coat in the same manner, if necessary.
