Field of Application
High-grade intermediate and finishing coats on primed, dimensionally stable wood component parts, primed metals and unplasticized/rigid PVC, in- and outdoors. Do not use for heating systems to avoid yellowing (use Capacryl Heizkörperlack instead). Yellowing is a product typical effect of white alkyd lacquers (synthetic varnishes), due to the use of natural oils.Material Properties
- Water-dilutable.
- Low odour.
- Easy and elegant to apply.
- Weather-resistant.
- Non-blocking.
- High scratch resistance and shock strength.
- Diffusion-capable.
- Resistant to common household cleaning agents (detergents).
- Sustainable formulation due to the use of renewable raw materials.

Suitable Substrates
Primed, dimensionally stable wood component parts, primed metals and unplasticized/rigid PVC.The substrate must be clean, sound/stable, dry and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion. Maximum permissible moisture content in dimensionally stable wood: 13 % (WMC).
Substrate Preparation
Roughening and cleaning the primered surface.Method of Application
PU-AlkydGeo can be applied by brush, roller or spraying equipment. Stir well before use and dilute, if necessary, with max. 5 - 15 % of tap (potable) water for intermediate coat.
The indications as stated above may vary, depending on the type/brand of spray equipment used. For brush application use special brushes, suitable for aqueous enamels.
Manual application on large/seamless surfaces: Apply with a textured, short pile polyamide (nylon) roller and treat immediately with a fine-porous foam roller or special brush for aqueous enamels.
For an efficient application and an even surface treatment the tool sizes should be adjusted to the surface area to be coated.
Guidelines for Spray Application:
Ø Nozzle | Spray Pressure | Air Pressure | Dilution | |
Airless | 0.009 - 0.012 inch | 200 bar | – | max. 5 % |
Airmix/Aircoat | 0.011 - 0.013 inch | 120 bar | 2.5 bar | max. 5 % |
Low pressure | 1.8 - 2.2 mm | – | approx. 0.5 bar | max. 15 % |
High pressure | 1.8 - 2.0 mm | – | 2 - 3 bar | max. 15 % |

1) Always apply Capacryl Holz-IsoGrund on wood containing water-soluble, discolouring substances (2 x on knots). 2) Apply two intermediate coats on dimensionally stable wood component parts, as per BFS Data Sheet No. 18. 3) Sand the surface after applying an additional intermediate coat. Note: Adhesion must be tested in advance for powder coatings, coil coatings and other critical substrates by trials. |
Consumption
Approx. 100 - 120 ml/m2 per coat.Consumption is a guide value and may vary, depending on substrate requirements. Determine the exact amount of material required by coating a test area on site.

May cause an allergic skin reaction. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Keep out of reach of children. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Wear protective gloves/ eye protection. IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water. Contains: 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one, 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one.Disposal
Materials and all related packaging must be disposed of in a safe way in accordance with the full requirements of the local authorities. Particular attention should be made to removing wastage from site in compliance with standard construction site procedures. In Germany: Only completely empty containers should be handed in for recycling. Dispose containers with residues of liquid product via waste collection point accepting old paints and enamels. Dispose dried/hardened product residues as construction site/demolition/municipal or domestic waste.
