With an attack of mould fungi, apart from the annoying appearance, there is also a hazard for the building occupants. Mould fungi in interiors can cause long-term allergic reactions:
- Runny noses,
- Skin rashes or
- Irritation in the mouth and throat region
The list of symptoms is a long one. To remedy the situation it is essential to combat the causes of the mould. These are generally a combination of high room humidity, ambient temperature and availability of nutrients. If there are no constructional defects, such as thermal bridges, unsealed roofs or cracked walls, often inadequate or incorrect ventilation of the rooms is the reason for the
mould growth. Once the cause of the mould growth is clear, proper renovation must be started promptly.
When the damage is found, suitable materials must be used which are specially formulated for resolving this type of problem. On the following pages you will find out more about suitable products and system solutions which have been well proven in practice.
